Just had dinner there with my wife. We were very impressed with the menu with really imaginative food including several fish and sea food options. My wife is vegetarian and there were no problems finding some dishes she fancied.When our food arrived we were even more impressed! Completely excellent with generous portion sizes. What a little gem. The quintessential English pub serving real ales, fine wine and delicious food. Delightful garden and a great stop off for us en route to Portsmouth for the ferry. Top marks - superb.

What a super lunch! I had the venison and it was delicious - perfectly cooked, loved the roasted beetroot and the dauphinoise. My wife had the Confit Duck which was also excellent - as I stole quite a few tastes!! The treacle tart was particularly good - quite light, not too sweet and balanced beautifully with the honey and ginger ice cream. Brilliant lunch! - will be back soon.
