Nice food - a bit different from the norm - in pleasant surroundings.

Stayed here as attended a party near by. Rooms very clean although very warm. Breakfast was simple but good. The morning we were there, they seemed very busy & struggled to keep up with demand. Would recommend if visiting near by.

We normally stay at the travel lodge in gosport centre but thought we would treat ourselves and our sister and brother in law to the Anglesey. Checking in was easy the receptionist was lovely and explained everything to us, as soon as we entered the room we were disappointed it was tiny, very basic the carpet was thread bare and the bathroom was very damp the ceiling was brown with paint cracking off it but we thought it's only a few nights we won't let it spoil our time here, however on entering our sisters room it was disgusting it stunk of dirty drains and the carpet was just a hole with threads of hessian hanging all over to trip on, this was suppose to be a nice Xmas present for her and her husband we were absolutely gutted. We did go and complain and again the staff were lovely and straight away gave them another room which was very similar to the one we had so we took it they were the better rooms. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Needless to say we will be retuning back to the travel lodge.

Went for Sunday lunch with a small group. Great food and service, at sensible prices. Great vibe and very cosy place to be. Highly recommended.

We go to the Anglesey Hotel for the occasional drink. On the 22 December it was my daughters birthday. 7 of us and food was absolutely brilliant. Service is as always friendly and efficient. as always the staff go out on a limb for you. The grandkids didn't like starters so they had garlic bread.,which they love.I love this hotel , the only problem is parking, but then this is the same all over. Do visit you will not be disappointed. In summer especially . A hidden gem.Nearby activities: The village Alverstoke, is worth a visit. The is a lake nearby they rent out kayaks etc. opposite the hotel a graveyard where a few famous people are buried. So much to do

A great place to meet for a beer and a walk to Gilkicker. Lunchtime toastie was lovely and always an interesting pint to try.If you can't get to Bristol to see their famous crescent this Gosport equivalent is fun to see.

We visited the bar for a quick bite. It was just perfect. The salad on the side was just right and dressed in a honey and mustard dressing. My favourite. We would eat there again without hesitation.Food & drinks: We visited the bar for a quick bite. It was just perfect. The salad on the side was just right and dressed in a honey and mustard dressing. The food here is lovely. Especially the Thai. Service is excellent. This is an old building so the rooms are not modern but they are warm, cozy and clean.

We visited for a Christmas lunch. Food was good, gluten free and vegans were catered for, service excellent. Parking is on street but not bad.

This was our first stay at the Anglesey Hotel, Gosport. We had read all the reviews both positive and "constructive" before booking. The hotel is a lovely old building, showing a grand past history in size and location. Staff are lovely as each review has said and we agree. Our experience is only with a family room which is a lg double bed and a single bed. The housekeeping on rooms 104 and 305 was absolutely appalling. We never have written an unsatisfactory review for anything previously. The floors hadn't been vacuumed in quite awhile. Staff profusely apologised and suggested we move to another family room. The floor was equally as appalling but in the dark it wasn't as visible as day. Again the floors hadn't been vacuumed and were covered with hair. Staff not management were totally kind. We have family in Gosport so were hopeful of finding a nice character hotel to stay in while visiting not only now but future visits. We are only mentioning the floors but there were other housekeeping things in the room / bathroom that need attention not only for the next guests but part of their upkeep and management of the hotel so it's clean, tidy, all in working order for guests no matter the season. We only had breakfasts and cannot comment on food.

Wonderful experience!Absolutely loved it.Beautiful building, walking distance from the beach. Rooms are great. Very cosy and comfortable. There is a buffet breakfast.Food is delicious and enormous quantity- difficult to finish one serving.Just one suggestion- the staircase is not well lit and might cause accidents. So some lights there would be great!
