Well hidden but very nice when you get there. The breakfasts were lovely - high quality produce in generous portions, served well on hot plates. It did take quite a long time for breakfast to arrive - they could probably turn the tables over much more quickly. But for Sunday brunch we weren't too bothered. It is quite noisy.

Popped in for coffee and cake Sunday pm. Not much choice of cake so husband asked if they did toasted teacake to which young server said yes. Didn't think cake brilliant and husbands came as 2 slices of a fruit slab of something with butter, definitely not a teacake and he wasn't impressed eating it. We did mention paying that it was not teacake and young man just said he didn't know! Over £16 so won't return. Shame as lovely character set up

Visited yesterday 4th August around 1.30pm. Not busy, ordered 2 coffees and 3 bottles of diet coke,1 scone,2 brownies...the coffees eventually came then 10 mins later a scone, then after asking where the cokes were at they too eventually turned up...any chance of the brownies??? Er...we only have one....so one it had to be....we were there about an hour in total which was critical as it took that long to get the order to us..in stages...Top tip..if Someone places an order, get it all together as one then take it to the table...as one...so customers can enyoy their food & drinks together...also..£3.50 for a 330ml bottle of coke...come on...rip off. Awful atmosphere, very slow service,joyless,expensive...

Lovely little cafe and such a shame as it could be so different.. It’s all there with style and the large windows the pretty outside space.. I so very much want places like this to thrive but I can’t help feeling every time I give them another chance I’m justified by how I feel. We ordered scones for brunch as there were very little else sweet wise to choose from. Apparently they were hosting an event the day before. When they arrived it was almost like the left overs from that event! Tiny in size! Just one miniature out of a packet scone ( so it seemed) for a premium price. Almost embarrassingly so.. The service haphazard and not what you’d expect from a place with uphill pricing. I’m sad to say that I would love to be a regular again but every time I just feel letdown and somewhat taken advantage by the prices they charge for disappointing food.. Unfortunately this would have been the 5th time in hoping things will improve but to no avail I’m afraid.. I just wish owners would take stock of reviews instead of apologising and then carrying on making the same mistakes. Take note on low rating reviews as a positive and improve on this! We all want to see places like this survive!

Unfriendly! We were courteously seated and had every intention of enjoying a light lunch but for reasons personal to myself, we had to leave before giving our order. With apologies to the waitress we made our way back through the courtyard and I felt I had to use the toilet. On exiting, a waspish blond woman hissed ‘that will be 10p’ and my waiting daughter had been told that it was rude to use the facilities without ordering. I would say please don’t judge your clientele or if you feel you must, keep your comments to yourself. Can you really afford to alienate people?

Had a lovely afternoon tea with an added peach bellini treat. Dog friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great selection of cakey treats and savoury delights to suit all. You can also browse the gift shop on your way out. The owner of this delightful establishment is a mine of information with regards to the local area.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Served promptly and drinks arrived soon after. Brunch orders well presented, well cooked and tasted great. Friendly attentive staff were the highlight

This place used to be my favourite cafe in the village, but on the last few visits the service has been very, very slow and poor even though there were very few people in the café. I came with my two sisters for a treat; firstly, we waited far to long to have our order taken and then even longer for the order to come out. To make matters worse all the meals were incorrect when they arrived with avocado forgotten on two meals and the third meal forgotten entirely. We reminded the waitress who then seemed to forget and we had to remind a second time before it finally came but with only one scone not two. The staff seemed very pre-occupied, but not with serving us. Someone was tidying up and having a chat with another staff member and another taking full black bin bags out – can’t this wait till the customers leave? The staff on both occasions seemed oblivious to the poor service. This is not what you’d expect from a cafe with premium prices. Sadly it will be a while before I return if ever.

Disappointing sadly. Food just not good and service very slow. Not sure if new staff in the kitchen or inexperienced cook but the American pancakes I ordered were very underwhelming, solid and not fluffy at all. I make better ones at home! My friends Courtyards Breakfasts (English bfast) were equally unexciting with barely cooked tomatoes, no hash browns and the veggie option has a lot of unwilted plain spinach. Service was very slow, and the staff were very apologetic but the wait for food wasn't worth it in the sadly. It seemed a nice spot but the pancake receipe needs serious improvement (!)

Generous portions and very tasty food. Visited on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Pre booking advised. Friendly staff, efficient service.

This place is obviously very popular. Packed at lunchtime when we visited. Food was good if a bit slow coming out. Staff friendly and working hard. Be nice when able to sit outside (it was raining). Will only go back for a treat as it is quite expensive.

This place use to be my favourite cafe in the village, but the last couple of visits the service has been very very slow. The staff on both occasions were unapologetic and oblivious to the poor service not what you’d expect from a cafe with premium prices. I won’t be going back. Choose an alternative cafe if you can.

Food was very slow in coming and all 3 meals not served at the same time The 2 young girls who took our order weren’t very friendly and welcoming and not a thank you when we paid Won’t be going again

I visited The Courtyard yesterday for a brunch with my parents and partner for my birthday. I was made to feel very welcomed and being gluten intolerant it’s a refreshing place to visit where the options to choose from are plentiful. The service was very friendly, the food served warm and quickly but most importantly there were no empty plates. Despite being a healthy portion size we all cleaned our plates. Will definitely be visiting again.

This lovely restaurant is tucked behind the antique centre and is a gem in the village for providing the best customer service and delicious food. Laura and the team provided exceptional service and couldn’t do enough to make our visit special. The food is delicious and the courtyard a delight. Roll on summer
