My friends and I had Sunday Lunch at this wonderful pub yesterday. Although busy we had really good service from the friendly staff & manager. The Sunday roast meal was fantastic. Highly recommend. Roger & Friends

Lovely little pub with great history. Very warm welcome from all staff. The atmosphere was lovely and country-esk. They accepted dogs which was fab. The food was absolutely beautiful, faultless and served timely and with carefully thought about presentation. We had the Monkfish Scampi and Salt and Pepper squid, both superb. For mains we had Halibut in a lobster bisque, and the Chicken and Ham hock pie - full of flavour from start to finish. To end we shared the sticky toffee pudding which was topped with delicious honey comb. We even had the chef and owner come out and chat with us which was such a lovely touch. Wonderful experience, will definitely be back when we’re next in the area!

Charming pub that brings a smile to your face as soon as you walk in. We were there for Sunday lunch. A full £25 for beef and trimmings, but it's more than fair value. A lovely roast, with great yorkies, perfect toasties and lashings of rich gravy. But it's the setting and staff that make this place special. Top rating for my new favourite Hampshire pub.

We popped in for a quick drink after a walk. It's a lovely friendly cosy place with a good choice of beer. The menu looked very nice. Next time we'll probably eat there as well.

Except food and service. Good menu with vegetarian options. Lovely open fire and food hot and although bug group food, all came out together.

Booked a table for 5 guests for my father’s birthday due to the positive reviews. The entire experience was a let down. The service was at best average from 3 members of staff who struggled to use any manners between them. The roasts were £25 each which was totally inflated for the quality and presentation of food on the plate. The duck starter contained meat which was inedible due to it being rock hard but when the waiter was politely informed, the response was, ‘I’ll let the chef know.’ In hindsight, we shouldn’t have paid for the duck but we did. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
