“We've been here a few times and our last visit did not disappoint. First off, it's a beautiful pub that is kept up so well. The staff are so friendly, work so hard and they make you feel very welcome. We like how they offer smaller portions of meals, it makes it more affordable and also you don't feel too full ( and you have room for one of their yummy puddings!). All in all its great value for money and it's nice to support independent businesses that work so hard during these tough times.”

“Five minutes off the A31, The Green Dragon is a very worthwhile alternative to your average service station, mid-journey stop off!We stopped in for lunch on the way back from the coast and I’m so glad I took the time to find this alternative. It was a slightly damp, mid week stop so the pub wasn’t too busy and the garden wasn’t usable (but it looked like it would be lovely on a better day!), so it was a little quite in side but it did mean there was tables available. On a better day, booking in advance might be advisable to avoid disappointment! They had a good choice of beers and the food was very good, one of the better ploughman’s I have had in a while! There was plenty of parking available to the rear/side.Staff could have been a little more friendly and welcoming but where efficient and polite. If you’re passing through the New Forest on the A31, don’t settle for the usual bland services, take a minors detour and enjoy the local hospitality, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!”

“A wonderful ploughman’s lunch - delicious homemade chutney, coleslaw and roasted root veg, accompanied a proper helping of ham and mature cheddar. Fresh loaves accompanied both plates - best in the New Forest.”

“Popped in for a drink with the girls on my uni course when we visited the town for some studying on Wednesday. Staff in the pub were phenomenal, super friendly and helpful. The basket in the ladies toilet honestly sets this pub apart from any other ive been in and was a really nice touch. Will definitely be back again when I'm next in the area!”

“We had booked for a Sunday lunch and could get table which was well worth it as the place was packed. There were a couple of big parties one was a table of 15 which went as we entered but the other group was 18. However we had our order taken pretty quickly and we got our food quickly as they had just started taking plates out to the big group. The food was hot, the portions more than ample and cooked very well. Tasty, hot and enough for anyone I would say.Food & drinks: All good”
