Excellent Gracious Hospitality, Warm Fire, Fine table, Venison Stew topped anything previously tried, lovely surroundings, immaculately clean. Apparently good area for walkers. A treat not to miss!

I took my mother for a belated Mother's Day lunch. At 92, a former chef, she has a small appetite but high standards. Atmosphere, service and food were all faultless. The sun shone, a perfect memory. When a business is this good, it deserves support. I am a beer connoisseur, it ticks that box. What are you waiting for, get some friends together and book. They also have wood fired pizza on Wednesday, Gypsy jazz on Sunday.

We had an amazing lunch here for our 50th wedding Anniversary on Saturday. We were a group of 14. We made use of the Yurt. The food was lovely. Service was excellent. The 2 waitresses really worked very hard and nothing was too much trouble. Nice woodburner made it so cozy. Even Digby the little dog was so friendly ?Food & drinks: Stunning food beautifully prepared.

Simon and team really looked after us celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. From the privacy in the yurt, to the delicious food, our party of 14 was really happy with everything and we were well looked after. Our 2nd vidiat and is highly recommended.

Had an epic Sunday roast for 8 of us, 6 adults and 2 kiddies - we were well looked after and the food was amazing. Beautiful interiors in the pub. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing and definitely outdid the other desserts!

Had luncheonFood & drinks: The Cricketers was selected as a good place for a 'catch up' lunch on the basis that the menu was markedly different from the average 'pub lunch' menu. We were very pleased with our choices of Venison Casserole and Sea Food Risotto. These were followed by an excellent , shared, early rhubarb mille-feuille, with outstanding pastry. Definitely worth a return visit soon ! Lunch was made even more enjoyable by the discrete and helpful attention of the owner and his staff. 20 Feb 24

Had Sunday lunch here. Busy place but nice country pub atmosphere. Nice and attentive staff. Good food. The only negative was the roast chicken. We enquired with our waitress before ordering. Were told it was half a roast chicken. Turned out to be a (very pale) roast chicken leg. Poor value at £18!

Went with family for dinner celebration. The chef is using quality ingredients and some dishes were very good. However, venison was inconsistent. Nice ambiance, albeit a little loud.

This is very much a local pub. We arrived to almost no cars in the parking lot, but many people were walking in on foot. Service was excellent and food was good. Two fire places were going while we were there. Strong WiFi too so I may consider it for a working

Am slightly conflicted with this review - the new owner and staff are working very hard. It's beautiful inside and out, and the food is great. However, today (Dec '23) on a Sunday, they hadn't sorted service and the demands on the kitchen out and we waited hours for our (when it came) thoroughly delicious roast. They kept us abreast of the delays, but we also weren't offered any recompense until we asked when we went to paid the bill. At which point they were more than generous. I would love to see this place succeed. Very dog and child friendly.
