Decent beer, exceptionally pricey and a bit of a drunken student haunt as it is open until 3am. Food is available late evenings as well, so if you've nowhere to sleep, nothing to eat, more money than sense, desperate and at a loose end, then you know where to go.

Very nice pub with great food served in a reasonable time. A little pricey but very tasty will highly recommend.Beware of timings of you want to avoid the karaoke crowd or on football match times

Didn't have food but atmousphere was great! A que for the bar in the evening but plenty of places to sit so even though it was rammed we manged to get a table and there were heaters at the outside seating to keep you warm on cold winter evenings! Decor outside is fab and inside is nice too! All in all a great place to go - one of Winchester's nightlife hotspots!

It was the busiest I've ever seen Alfie's. I had to queue to get in which is unheard of. But it's basically the only bar in Winchester open until 3am so there's that.

Had lunch at Alfie’s yesterday 20th December 2023, really nice food & super friendly staff.

We went to Alfie's for the Arsenal vs Liverpool match and all was swell. We carried on our night and went to multiple other pubs, causing no trouble at all. It was until we got to the Baker's Arms and were refused entry as it was too full. We returned 10 minutes later and every thing was fine. We were just about to order drinks and got kicked out for no reason, with the apparent 'landlord' pushing us out. We then went to Alfie's and were refused entry for no reason at all, as the 'landlord' from Alfie's must have communicated this to them. Confused as to why we weren't allowed to go in. Very disappointed.

Just lacking in customers and entertainment and the karaoke doesn't quite cut it. This place used to be amazing when I first came some years ago but unfortunately has lost its edge.Staff were mediocre bar one with tattoos on her neck amd dark hair. I think she was waitress staff but customer service was miles above the rest of them. The door staff turned up to a fight after it happened and wasn't bothered to do much about it at all.

We visited twice over a weekend. The first time was ok, service a little slow but it was a busy Christmas market weekend. The second time it was early evening and very quiet. The wine was average at best: there was only one ale available, water was served in a plastic beaker and the cleanliness of the toilets left a lot to be desired. On speaking to the bar staff, we realised they operate on a successful after midnight business model - and probably don’t really care too much for the sort of experience we were hoping for. Suggest avoiding unless you’ve already had a good evening out & want to finish off your night here with cheap shots and plastic beakers.
