Very busy. Popular for their food and TV sports. The Fish & chips was beautifully light and the chicken schnitzel was enormous. Would highly recommend.

Had a lovely roast dinner for mother's day ?

Love the semi enclosed outside seating area over looking the river as it races away from the Old Mill. Efficient service only marked down for atmosphere as someone in the staff thought it was acceptable to dump a large number of empty bottles into their bottle bin adjacent to the external seating area not once but TWICE drowning out all conversation and startling customers. Have eaten here before and has always been good and reasonably priced.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Nice cosy feel to the place.

The waiters a little unpleasant with the children. Maybe because of stress or too much work. The nice and cozy place. The bar service is very pleasant and attentive.

Walked in at 11:00 as last orders where called and was refused service by the lazy and quite frankly rude staff. Will not be returning, was my first and last visit. Would not recommend to anyone.

absolutely lovely! me and my mum had some cocktails which were lush as well as some food which was great! the staff are so lovely, making sure everything was okay and even giving us some water without us asking which we appreciated!

Nice place to go. Often busy and can take a while to get served at the bar. Staff pleasant enough but over Christmas they needed more help to make the experience better for us customers. However it's definitely a place to visit, especially if you can pick a quieter time.

I'd walked past the Bishop lots of times and it always looked like a warm, welcoming boozer with a great location overlooking the river on the High Street. BUT...the food is so far below average and really overpriced. Our two kids left their kid's menu items, saying the tiny pizza didn't tase of anything and the mac and cheese was grainy and didn't taste like cheese. I wasn't brave enough to try any, but it sounds like it came out of a packet. For 16-17 quid, that's not good enough. My wife instantly regretted her choice and my pie was like a Sainsbury's pie you get for 3 quid with some mash, cabbage and gravy. With a pint each and two small lemonades, it came to 80 quid. Half the lunch was left uneaten. The staff were totally nice and helpful. I'll come back for a pint by the river in the summer, but when it comes to food, we'll eat somewhere else. It's also interesting to see that the management doesn't really care, as they don't respond to any reviews, however bad they are.

We came for a light lunch. The pub was quiet with a few tables taken. Bar service was fast and friendly, so we decided to stay for some lunch snacks. The food was brought out quickly and the quality very good. The staff were all cheerful and helpful. We’ll be back for a bigger meal at some point soon.

Christmas day lunch, although not everything was perfect, one has to understand at these venues they are governed by the corporate managers, thankfully the team made it a memorable experience hopefully we will get a lot more for our £ next year. The canapés were a canapé...and far too big.
