A great place to enjoy a pint of local craft ale, a decent lunch and the view across to wonderful Winchester Cathedral.Noteworthy details: Right in the city centre, but off the noisy main thoroughfare.

Magnificent hotel! Very well located next to the cathedral. The staff very kind and friendly. The restaurant with an excellent vegan/vegetarian menu, all made with local and fresh, delicious products. The bed was super comfortable, the sheets were soft and the cleaning was impeccable. Strongly recommended.Rooms: Comfy beds, clean soft sheets, super hot shower.Nearby activities: You can visit everything from the hotel. Booked a table for our anniversary in the restaurant. Both the food and service was fantastic. A great atmosphere in lovely surroundings in the middle of Winchester. A good menu and specials board. Highly recommend, we will return. Came down from Reading to try out.

As one of our favourite places to eat in Winchester we booked for an early dinner before a concert at the Cathedral. We had a great table in the restaurant next to the fire although sadly the fire went out pretty soon and when we asked for it to be re-lit were told this wasn't possible!Food was tasty - lamb shank excellent, chicken/chorizo skews good (although slightly overcooked) and chocolate delice very good (although rather hard).Staff all very helpful and friendly despite being very busy!

Currently staying here for our wedding weekend. We had a rather large booking for food last night before the big day. The food and service was amazing! We’d been given our own room which was great for everyone to be able to talk to each other and hear all conversations away from other tables in the restaurant. Can’t thank the staff enough for how the night went. They checked on us between courses to ensure the night was going well. I’m sure they would have been very accommodating had a problem occurred but everything was perfect!Just to add the rooms are incredible. Extremely clean, little extras in the room are a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if we have another event or just want a weekend away. Thank you all again.

What a fantastic place! We really loved our time here and decided to come back next year. Very charming. Great room, great location, very friendly staff, lots of space. Breakfast was really tasty too.Rooms: Room was spacious, very clean, had all the amenities we wanted, and a luxury bathroom.Cleaning staff did a great job.Nearby activities: Winchester Cathedral practically on the doorstep. Winchester College around the corner, museums, and high street within spitting distance.
