Currently staying here for our wedding weekend. We had a rather large booking for food last night before the big day. The food and service was amazing! We’d been given our own room which was great for everyone to be able to talk to each other and hear all conversations away from other tables in the restaurant. What a fantastic place! We really loved our time here and decided to come back next year. Very charming. Great room, great location, very friendly staff, lots of space. Breakfast was really tasty too.Rooms: Room was spacious, very clean, had all the amenities we wanted, and a luxury bathroom.Cleaning staff did a great job.Nearby activities: Winchester Cathedral practically on the doorstep. Winchester College around the corner, museums, and high street within spitting distance.
Pitifully slow and inattentive service. Never saw our waitress again after being served, so no chance to request the forgotten napkins, additional coffee, etc. and then another fifteen minutes to get our bill. It’s a shame, as the environs are lovely and the food was quite good.**Second time's the charm.
