One of my favorite hotels in the world. The staff is the best and the rooms are perfect.

I love this hotel and have been several times over the years. The only sad thing is that they don't serve dinner in the evenings anymore so now not sure if I will be returning.

This is a lovely hotel; friendly staff and beautiful setting. Only minor niggles stop me giving 5 stars across the board and that is the lack of a soap dish for the bath and shower (first world problem of having to remember to move the soap from the basin if showering or bath); pillows are not the best. However plentiful hot water with good water pressure, bed is comfortable. Love the fresh milk in the fridge and the water. Lovely touch with the sherry and biscuits. Lovely breakfast menu.Would have been nice to have been able to get an evening meal here as the dining room is lovely.Lovely location

We went for lunch on my wife's birthday. Service was exemplary and the food devine. We chose from their fixed price lunch menu (as of Dec 23). Superb. What their a la carte menu is like, I can only imagine if this was their "basic" offering. Highly recommended.

The hotel is very nice and every room is a little bit different and special. In general I would say you will experience a very cozy place with a taste of traditional old style. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was very good, you could order what you wanted to have and they had from very light options until more heavy options. The location is just some steps away from the main church or cathedral in Hereford and of course very close to many restaurants, pubs, stores, etc.The normal prices are a little bit high if compere some prices around the area but the place worth it I think you will it find another place like this in Hereford. They have on the back of the hotel a green area with a small river, for the sunny days is really nice to seat and have some beers, tea, snacks, food, etc.

This is a lovely and historic place, sitting by a lake on Castle Green area.I cannot review hotel facilities as only here for lunch. The staff were very welcoming and helpful right from the start. The restaurant area is big and open overlooking a lake, very nice. It's also nicely appointed and tables are both large and well clear of other tables. We came for afternoon high tea and it was super. The food is set on tiered stands and we had sandwiches, cakes and savories in abundance. All were very nice, of very good quality and well presented.Service and facilities were excellent too, well worth a visit.

When reviewing the Castle Hotel It would be easy to list a whole host of minor issues (from a small amount of mould in the shower to an absence of butter knives at breakfast) that placed the hotel below its full potential. However to simplify things it’s best described as a nice three-star hotel in an excellent location for the city centre but with very limited car parking. Our two-night stay in late October proved enjoyable and whilst none of the minor points spoiled our stay it is a shame that the hotel isn’t able to do better. At the time of our visit there was no evening food service, and as mentioned, car parking (which is limited to ten cars) proved busy, meaning that if you’re not able to find a space you’re limited to street parking (2hr slots) or a nearby council car park (£8/24hr).There seems to be a void of fine dining restaurants in central Hereford. Everything on offer is either national chain or bistro level food. It would be nice if The Castle could fill that gap as the setting is ideal and free parking after 18:00 is available in front of the hotel. We would return again if needing to say in Hereford. Meantime our thanks go to the hotel staff for a pleasant visit.

Had a 2 night stay here and what a wonderful hotel it is. We couldn’t have asked for more. Staff were fantastic, polite and service at breakfast was excellent. Nothing was a problem. Our room was beautiful, made even better by the complimentary sherry, homemade biscuits and other little snacks that made that little bit of a difference. Location is superb with the town centre less than a 2 or 3 minute walk. The Cathedral is just at the end of the road. Breakfast itself was superb with everything sourced locally. The hotel itself is elegant, full of character and charm. In short we loved our stay here and will definitely be coming back. ???

Only went for afternoon high tea and it was lovely so would recommend this as a treat.Walkability: Parked at one of the pay and display car parks and walked.

The most tasteless, bland quiche I've ever eaten. No herbs or seasoning...served tepid.Nice rosemary fries though.Underwhelmed.

Nice place. I've been here over the years. Shame they have only one beer available on tap.

I am actually leaving a review for the Castle House terrace restaurant ( wich is a part of the hotel complex) , as I was so impressed by this place so much, that it became my favorite and only place to go now in Hereford. This is a SIX stars place to come and enjoy food and drink for a very reasonable price. You will never venture going to Costa, Coffee no 1, Nero or any other hipster place in Hereford, no matter how good they are, this place is simply beyond any comparison. You will have a first class professional waiter service, which will attend to your needs and treat you politely, as they are not overcrowded or understaffed. There are 3 different spacious lunching areas, 2 indoors, and one outdoor, 2 of them with the stunning natural views of the trees and river. The terrace part includes 2 areas, one indoors, under the enormous glass windows, which allows for lots of light and stunning views, and the outdoors part which also features a fantastic wooden furniture decor, lovely plants, and food and drinks served with excellent crockery. And attention to detail, such as small vases with real dahlias, just overall experience is high class. Not to mention the amazing cloakroom area. They serve breakfast and lunch Wed-Sun, High Teas, and Sunday Lunch - which includes all 3 lunching areas. (The main indoor restaurant has a high standard restaurant feel, and they serve there only Sunday lunch-Veg and Vegan options available, must book 1-2 weeks in advance) . Terrace area (other 2) is open 8.30am-10.30pm 7 days a week! You cannot get better than that! They serve Wed-Sun breakfast and lunch, and all is very reasonably priced, with also vegetarian options. Ok, they do not have smoothies, which I wish to encourage them to have, and that is the only downside in my view. I cannot recommend it more, you simply wouldn't go anywhere else. I am so glad I found this amazing place, after being to so many different places, especially for drinks, where staff was continually rude, overworked, and places too noisy or overcrowded, and where you are not waited, but but have to endlessly queue and order at the till. And even independent places, in the Church Street like polly 10, or the opposite small Deli, have a vastly inconsistent food service, once same dish served large, next time smaller amounts, or one time warm, next time, same dish served cold, one time olives included, next time not. Any of these place do not even remotely compare to the Castle terrace. It is a must go place. It reminds me of Feathers hotel restaurant in Ledbury, but much much much better. My only regret I didn't discover this place earlier!

We booked a table for lunch here and sat outside in the beautiful garden. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly with great customer service. The hotel is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean.
