We visit most weeks for the quiz but sometimes choose to eat as well as we did this week. The food is exactly what you expect and pay for with this chain. I had the scampi and chocolate fudge cake.The service is always very friendly and the staff make an effort to ensure you feel welcome whilst also having a sense of humour.The building and interior really could do with some work doing, it's the main let down and it needs a refurbishment.

Absolutely delicious. Really well seasoned and cooked perfectly. We got a 2 person special for the two people and the portions were big enough to take home and enjoy it again the next day. Next time I drive through the town I will be stopping there again for dinner. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved this hotel, check in was fast and friendly, the bedrooms are really nice and spacious with lots of little extras. My bathroom was a little dated but it didn't spoil the experience whatsoever as the products where nice and the whole hotel has a great vibe. Such a shame they don't serve evening meals but they do lunch and afternoon teas. Breakfast was good quality and very enjoyable.

Simply amazing, from my experience yesterday evening this restaurant should have a perfect 5 stars.Everything was amazing from starters to dessert. Brilliant vegetarian/vegan options. I was blown away by the sticky toffee pudding, literally a little piece of heaven.My waitress (Dani? if I understood her name correctly) was the sweetest, the music in the background was great, and the decoration is beautiful. Well, the absolute full package for a very reasonable price (less than 40£ for starter-main-dessert + glass of wine).Impossible to ask for more, thank you the Bookshop & staff!

What a find!Food was absolutely superb; wonderfully presented and a delight to the palate. Portion sizes are also perfectly judged - enough to satisfy without making you feel too full.With haggis bon bons serving as an excellent amuse bouche and a delightful bread, our expectations were high! We enjoyed scallops and beef tartare as starters. For mains, we indulged in the seared beef pave, the belly pork and the cod. When it came to desserts, rhubarb souffle and the coconut parfait rounded off the evening with the latter being our choice of the night.Wine selection was also excellent and reasonably priced. The wine sommelier is very knowledgeable and certainly knows his stuff. We elected to try the wine pairings with desserts and agreed that they rounded off the meal perfectly.Ambience was great too. Tables are suitably spaced although sound levels could do with dampening slightly (only noticeable when every table was full). As if that wasn't enough, the complimentary minibus service then dropped us back home.Prices are on the higher side but you definitely get what you pay for! Long may it continue..... We will definitely be back!

Traditional village pub in Herefordshire. Reasonable amount of parking and very dog friendly. It was a cold day but there was a nice fire to warm the public bar. There is also a separate restaurant area. The food was great although we stuck to bar snacks as we were just passing through. There was a group of local gentlemen who seemed to know each other well and were enjoying a relaxed conversation over a pint or two. The building is very old.

Draught rotates pretty often, and a large stock is stored in cans/bottles to take away at a reduced price.Very friendly staff and owner. The rewards account is also easy to build up on multiple visits and can give you a nice discount/free drinks when needed.Also, I mostly return to see the lovely cat that roams outside and around the pub(pictured) ?

I haven’t posted on TripAdvisor in the past but felt the need to add a few suggestions to the Mill. There used to be bar stools and tables in the downstairs bar area, great for a few drinks and chatting with neighbours/others or for a pre meal drink. Sadly, these have been removed and replaced with 3 sofas!! Sofas are great for Costa Coffee but not for drinking pints! In addition, there are signs saying do not stand at the bar, drinkers do not want to sit on sofas and either want high stalls and the barrel tables (these were removed in 2023) or to sit/stand at the bar. When customers arrive that have booked a table for food they are taken straight to their table upstairs, surely if they sat in the bar area, had a drink and placed their order then they would likely drink more – perhaps you are missing a trick here – people on holiday or away for the weekend are generally not in a rush and would like to be out for the evening! During the summer we sit outside, have a couple of drinks and then order food, and several more drinks – works really well. And next is the draft beer, there is only one choice for draft beer which is totally understandable for somewhere without a massive turnover but please, please offer beers that the majority of us will drink. A session beer such as IPA, London Pride etc, not some obscure dark beer or something else that no one knows, ok if there is a ‘standard’ option plus a guest beer but there isn’t so it puts us off visiting. For example, Abbott Reserve at 6.5% over Christmas meant we didn’t visit, sorry but with no other choice then we will go somewhere else. The food is great, well done to the chef, especially 10 out of 10 for the Sunday lunches, staff are friendly and helpful but feel the above areas need to be fixed to make the place an excellent venue! I do hope that this is taken as constructive and not a moan. I have spent many years working in hospitality and feel these minor changes will a massive difference.

1st time using this fish & chip shop. Came up for 5 days to visit family nearby in whitecross, and so wanted fish & chips for ages. So my brother reccomended this place. The young girl behind counter very lively & energetic which is good as sets tone for a happy atmosphere in the shop.Fish was great & freshly cooked. My only concern is that credit cards are not taken, where it is the norm these days to take credit cards or cash. As I wanted to pay for dinner for my brother & his family a little treat from me, having no cash point close by other thsn the Sainsbury's he paid a bit embarrassing though, but next day paid him back.Overall service good food fresh and will visit again soon when I come up from London with my family next. ? Thankyou though ?

Always the place to go for Full English Breakfast. Top quality foods. Been taking my children here for years since they used to do swimming training before schools.It is very nice to see the owner still about every time we come in, although clearing tables, it shows that he really cares about his business. The cafe is always buzzing, very polite and professional staff.Support your local business, Ascari has been the gem of Hereford for almost 50 years or even more (I’m not sure). ??????
