Great little independent Italian style restaurant in the heart of Hereford City. Swift friendly service and great food.

I'd heard great things about this place so booked for a Saturday lunch. We had the aranchini balls with a salad and was blown away as to how good they were, followed up with polenta cake for me and affogato for the other half. Both were delicious and something new for us to try. I can't recommend the food and service enough from the moment we walked through the door. We will be returning to enjoy more of the menu.

We had a table reservation at 7.15pm on Saturday which we were early to. The wait staff were prompt and got us to our table, got our drinks and ordered our food within 10 minutes. We ordered a starter which sadly took an hour before we got it. The pizza dough was AMAZING but the sauce wasn't my cup of tea, and we thought the key flavours that were listed on the menu was not present. We had plans later that evening and needed to go sharpish, which we told the wait staff and they were brilliant and very reactive. Overall the food wasn't fantastic, but the drinks and the staff there were superb.

Very nice staff. Wrong wine served but sorted. Nice, tasty food but on expensive side and mains need to be served at same time.

Sent 3 emails and no reply. Very rude I thought as an independent company that want business but helping themselves when they don't reply. Poor food unfortunately and still left them a £20 tip. But thought would email but not replied. 3 emails sent in total. Bad form.

We came here to enjoy a lovely meal and a good catch up with friends. But instead we ended up having to shout out our conversation because all we could hear were the staff shouting commands at one another. The head waitresses spoke to their team like absolute rubbish and with a lack of respect. Very old style and dated management which needs to be raised. Our first drinks order took a while to come out, and the food also took a while to come out, which didn’t really bother us too much. On the upside the food was amazing. If the staff took less time giving orders at each other and more time making it more of a streamline process, it would be a lot calmer environment. I couldn’t wait to escape the noisy shouty staff. Not a great experience.

Came to Cotto for an early Christmas meal and I do believe it is some of the best Italian food you can buy in Hereford.

Had dinner with work colleagues. The restaurant claims to be Italian but there's nothing Italian about it. They claim to serve Pizza Napoletana, which was not and not even close to a normal Italian pizza. The bruschetta included salad (which does not go) and big pieces of tomatoes (instead of smaller pieces) plus the bread was soggy and over toasted. The atmosphere was not good idea, with the cook constantly looking at our table. When it was time to pay, the waiter told us that the machine did not have paper and so couldn't provide us with a receipt. Who owns a restaurant and can't bother to put a roll of paper inside the card machine?Overall, a sad reataurant which claims to be Italian but nothing is further from the truth

Lovely ambience and great staff but sadly that’s where it ended Very strange menu that didn’t deliver My starter was undercooked and a very strange mixture which was not as I was expecting - my friend ordered the fries with truffle, when they came it was a bowl of under done anemic chips with a very strange sauce on - not good I ordered an an aubergine dish which was again undercooked and tasteless Sorry to write this as I don’t normally say less than positive things - but as they say ‘could do a lot better’

This is a gem of a find In Hereford. It is a very pretty restaurant and immaculately clean. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and was very well presented. It is proper Italian food and it was scrumptious. The waiting staff were extremely polite and helpful, and the young man who served us was very pleasant. I will look forward to returning to this restaurant, and anyone reading this review, should note that sometimes I am scathing and frank in my reviews and can be quite critical. On this occasion, it really was delightful in every respect.

Poor menu on cheap paper with small print and little information. Very noisy with the head waitress shouting instructions to the kitchen all through our meal. Unimaginative salad garnish with the chicken dish we both chose. The tiramisu was good, but being straight out of the fridge it way too cold. Overpriced, so poor value.

We came here to celebrate a friends 30th birthday. We were seated outside at the back, and it felt as if we were forgotten about. One of the party members waited over half an hour for a cocktail despite prompting an a waiter a second time, another ordered a meal, to which we happily waited over an hour for - to then be told they had sold out of the dish he had ordered and he’d have to choose something else. The staff who’s served us were rude and at times we felt like we were inconveniencing them asking for things that had been forgotten. My pasta came out cold, and the pizzas were sloppy. I have not returned since this evening, as I was left extremely disappointed with the service, food and overall experience.

We booked a table for 3 and was given a nice table with comfy chairs. Enjoyed all the dishes and one cocktail. As the restaurant was busier, staff were working flat out and the chef kept saying ‘service please’ repeatedly and it’s kind of disturbing. On the other hand we didn’t want to see food getting cold on the counter either. Could there be a better solution when busy?
