Used as a stop-over parking for a campervan. Very friendly and helpful family run this pub. Really good basic food, which doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Lovely, tiny village on the Offa's Dyke walk.

We had a short bed and breakfast stay over the Remembrance weekend and we were not disappointed one little bit. The room was comfortable and quiet and the breakfasts were first rate and very filling. Sarah and Dave couldn’t do enough to make us feel most welcome (and the pub locals were friendly also). Whilst we were there we had an evening meal and a Sunday lunch which were both cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend this place for a stay and are actively checking the diary to see when we will be back.Thank you Royal Oak Gladestry.

Fantastic gem of a pub by the border. We visited for the pub quiz while on holiday and the landlady and locals were a great laugh. Good selection of ales and spirits. Dogs welcomed and a pool table!

Fabulous pub with probably the friendliest bar maid. Small menu but amazing quality with the best home made chips. Loved

Absolutely gorgeous rooms — spacious and high-spec. The bed in the Oak suite was one of the most comfy I’ve ever slept in! Our family spent several nights in the both rooms, with young children, and we couldn’t be made to feel more welcome by Sarah. The continental breakfast was plentiful and cooked breakfast great too. Couldn’t recommend more highly and we will be returning!

This lovely old traditional inn was a great base to explore Offa’s Dyke path for a couple of nights. The accommodation is perfect for two couples, it is quiet and comfortable, with modern colours; thoughtfully appointed but still very much part of the inn’s history. The inn has brilliant local beer, cider and gin, along with ancient charm. It has no equal as place to unwind after a long day’s walk. Or for just 20mins climb up Offa’s path you well be rewarded with a stunning 330 view of Gladestry and surroundings, a highlight of all our walks. After all that exercise the freshly cooked dinners, excellent breakfast and hospitality from Sarah and family are the perfect way to recharge for the next days challenge.
A very welcoming pub with a great range of beers and food. The staff are really friendly, helpful and happy to chat to a lone traveller.Walkability: Ideally situated for a stop on Offa's Dyke path.

We called in to The Royal Oak for Sunday lunch as a break whilst walking the Offa's Dyke path. The roast dinner was superb and excellent value for money. There was a generous portion of meat, accompanied by pretty much every vegetable imaginable! Absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend.

Great to find it open on a wet Offa's Dyke day.
