“Really enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch here today. Really lovely waiting team looked after us swiftly and with a great personal touch. Highly recommendedVegetarian options: A little limited on the Sunday lunch menu, but the nut roast main is available as veggie or vegan and is utterly delicious!! Range of starters and puds also available, although I didn’t try them this time.Parking: Found a disability space right next to the main door. Perfect!!”

“We only had a drink but an excellent pub and the beers on tap were very good. Friendly and helpful lady behind the bar gave us a warm welcome. Certainly visit ”

“We've eaten here with friends for lunch on numerous occasions and it never fails to delight. This last week was particularly splendid as they were offering a rather delicious(proper) pie of beef, blue cheese...and other lovely stuff. None of your stew and puff pastry lid offerings here thank you very much! Dessert was fab although a little unnecessarily heavy on squirty cream we felt. Get down there and grab yourself a pie before they're gone!”

“We popped in to the Tap House on our first day in Ross and instantly loved the place, why because the locals and the owners were so so friendly. After Friday afternoon we decided we would pop in on the evening after our meal in the Royal and had a fab evening with two of the regulars started to gig one with a banjo and the other with a ukulele and sang so many favs from ‘she’ Electric’ to ‘Take me home country road’. Oh forgot to mention the ale ain’t to shabby either. We had to try the Sunday roast as there was a general consensus that it was very good so we did shortly before we left for home, no surprise it was lovely. Thoroughly recommend this place for its atmosphere, friendliness and fine ales.”

“We were visiting our friends, they took us to their local pub and had the most delicious lamb shoulder that was cooked to perfection! Warm and friendly welcome. What a wonderful pub to have, truly a real asset for the village.”

“We stayed at the Royal Hotel for two days in early October, 2023. The room was terrific, with a great view of the river below. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, both in the front office and the restaurant/bar. Wonderful food, too. Overall, an all-round excellent guest experience!”

“Made so welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. All staff were super friendly and helpful, our fur baby was welcomed and given a small treat bowl too! The food was absolutely delicious, we all had different tastes and they were all catered for. The puddings are a must too-the sticky toffee pudding is out of this world!”

“Perfect place to relax by the river. Just far enough away from the hustle of Ross to relax and enjoy watching the canoes and kayaks drifting past. Good beer. The fish and chips tasted great if a bit on the small side.”
