Great pubHeard a lot about it - proper old school local village ‘ale’ pub. Very nostalgic in the front room, lots of character. Highly recommend for a nice pint.Kid-friendliness: Good for small kids / plenty of juice options and dogs welcome so keeps them entertained

Quite honestly a superb pub. Yes food can be limited but they do excellent toasties if you get here at the right time and there is typically a food van on Friday evenings with a good range of changing food. Anyway the atmosphere is first rate as is the range of beer, which is always well kept. Always very welcoming. Great for visiting after a countryside walk. One of Hertfordshire's best kept secrets.Parking: Parking at the side of the pub, next to the beer garden. Can fill up as pub is usually busy, but never failed to find a parking spot.Kid-friendliness: Absolutely fine with well behaved teenagers.

I’ve been coming to the Woodman for over 10 years and it’s a fantastic pub - great atmosphere, amazing beers and friendly staff. It’s hard not to enjoy coming here. The real ales are my thing, but they have something for everyone. Food (lunch time and Friday night gastro type vans) and drink is reasonably priced. This is a proper pub with the focus on great drinks and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Brilliant pub, clean, nice atmosphere, and good basic food - without the gastropub nonsense. Highly recommend.
