We stumbled upon this amazing pub with the friendliest patrons and best staff when cycling past it. In summer the garden and view is gorgeous when and winter brings warm log fires with a quaint atmosphere. It is dog friendly with the emphasis on friendly. On Saturdays between 12 and 2pm the kitchen serves the best sandwiches and rolls with its unique fillings of which my family and I have rummaged through all!. Love this place… first time back here in many years- all the new work has improved the place from the outside area to the upper garden and the little back,backroomThe Abbott was one of the best pints I had anywhere.

I’ve been coming to the Woodman for over 10 years and it’s a fantastic pub - great atmosphere, amazing beers and friendly staff. It’s hard not to enjoy coming here. The real ales are my thing, but they have something for everyone. Food (lunch time and Friday night gastro type vans) and drink is reasonably priced. This is a proper pub with the focus on great drinks and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
