Very empty restaurant on Christmas Eve, so felt less jolly than some might like, but it was ok. Food was plentiful and nice, although I think the sprouts could have done with a couple more months on the boil and the Christmas pudding had run out, which was disappointing. Service was prompt and friendly, more prompt than one of our party, who managed to be in the toilet doing her makeup for half the time we were there! All in all, value for money but the Michelin star still eludes them.Vegetarian options: Apparently they have vegetarian gravy now. Frankly I don't know why a vegetarian would be eating in a carvery, but I suppose the lack of protein makes them crazy.Parking: Make sure to put your reg number in at the desk so you don't get a ticket.

Friendly, efficient staff. Good presentation of food. Meats had good flavour and gravy was good. Disappointed there was no parsnips or sprouts on offer. Meat portion size was slightly small. Toby hosted us for a work Christmas meal and it was fantastic. Sarah, our waitress looked after us so well and was accommodating to our timing and allowed us to do a quiz, bring crackers etc. For a party of 20, all received their correct food and was delicious! Thank you so much Hemel TC for your care and attention for our party - a great time had by all.

Service was absolutely great. Our waiter was so polite and efficient. If I remember right his name was Teddy. He was so polite and friendly. The food was also amazing as always!

Yard Christmas meal for 30 people this evening . A lovely evening with fresh , hot and tasty food . Great atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for the staff . Sarah and the manager were very helpful, welcoming, polite and friendly . Very organised service and would definitely recommend for anyones get together/celebration . Thank you to all the staff for making our evening so comfortable and stress free . Kim xxx

I visited the Toby for the first time yesterday, 26th November. There was four of us and we were made very welcome. The food was excellent and we were attended to by a very efficient young waitress called Macee. Will definitely return.Parking: Big car park

We had a carvery here to meet up before Christmas, service was somewhat slow with food out of stock. Also the food was cold and even the restaurant was so cold we had to wear coats whilst eating. Not the best to be honest.

The quality and choice of meats were fantastic. As we're the salmon wellington and Spanish and mushroom pastry.You'll find all the trimmings and sauces you could want and the veg is bottomless!The dessert menus got a good workout! I think you've turned us from newbies to potential regulars.Thank you for being so accommodating and for giving our family a really lovey Saturday feast.We have definitely been won over and will be back.Vegetarian options: Had lovely spinach and mushroom option!
