Looking for a breakfast and a business catch up but not wanting the Costa or cafe experience, The Queens Head in Sawbridgeworth was absolutely perfect. Quality breakfast, I nearly went for the full English, but the lure of the healthy avocado struck. My colleague opted for the Portobello Mushroom. Service could not be faulted and the quality of food, outstanding. I’ll be back to try a dinner very soon. There’s a lot happening at this pub by the looks of the marketing posters, live music, an outside area which must be great in the summer, I intend to find out.

Came in for a roast, lots of the fancier places were booked up.The service here is brilliant. The waitresses were really attentive and lovely. The food was pretty good! The roasts were lovely.Vegetarian options: Strong vegetarian options, mushroom roast and veggie burger were enjoyed by the group

Amazing food and fabulous service. The roast dinner was one of the best I’ve had. The beef was perfectly cooked and really tender. The ladies serving were lovely and so polite. They couldn’t do enough for us.

Great outdoor space. Really decent food and large portions. Good value for money.

There is no car park, but there are a few spaces in the road outside if you look for them. Getting into the pub is a problem, it has a number of doors at the front, none say "entrance", but push on the right door, if door opens, then that is the way in. The inside is l a bog-standard pub, which is okay, and there is also a garden with lots of tables available, some under cover. The service was good. The meals are on the expensive side (eg one of the cheapest is fish & chips at £14), and the drinks are well overpriced (a pint of beer leaves you with little change out of £6). We had 3 x fish and chips, all the fish were a tad overcooked and two of the fish still had quite a few bones in, but the chips were excellent. I don't know if the tomato ketchup is rationed, but the little dish of it put on our table when asked, did not go very far. It is not a place I would visit regularly for a meal.
