Wife and I had lunch here on Thursday. Wife had pancakes and fruit while I had the sandwich of the day... open croque monsieur with bacon. Both were absolutely superb, really filling and great value. We were dog sitting for friends and can't wait to come back and visit Black goo again.
Having read some disappointing reveiws I was a bit apprehensive but they must have been one off glitches, because I loved this place so much on a first visit I went back the following week with a rather discerning French visitor who also loved it. I did see a reference to junk shop cutlery, but this is part of the charm - they have vintage crockery although our cutlery was standard restaurant cutlery. A really pleasant and peaceful cafe. Very clean, minimalist and yet so comfy!Spoilt for choice on the menu. Something for everyone..and they don't hold back on the portions!Coffees and food was just spot on...even desserts, generous portions.Defo recommend if you're in the neighborhood! Also ideally it's best to book in advance. As it can get busy.Keep up the good work guys!
