Checked into the room (twin double) little dated and tired around the edges but overall good size. Atmosphere was good as they had weddings taking place, customer service was great throughout. Breakfast was probably 1 of the best out of all equivalent hotels. Grounds are stunning!!!! Shame they don't do Sunday roasts on Sundays :( Kids and the Mrs loved it.....Have booked a few days over new year's at Hanbury and very much looking forward to it.

very efficient staff and a quick check in. Amazed to be given a map of the grounds but this proved very useful! Our room was huge as was the bathroom only drawback being I was unable to open the windows to let some air in. Not sure if they had been painted over. A good night's sleep. Special mention to the buggy driver who took us to our car park the following morning and on the way gave us a tour of the massive grounds. he was very knowledgeable and took the time to point out features - iI think every guest should have this offered!! The only thing stopping me from staying again I feel would be the price - I felt if you didn't play golf etc it was expensive. Doesn't mean to say that I wouldn't look at it again.

Went to this hotel with my family for my daughter’s birthday and stayed a couple of nights. Had a wonderful experience, starting from check in to check out; the front desk staff are really friendly and went out of the way to give us the best experience (managed to get a room upgrade as well). Special thanks goes to Ashan and also the staff in the main restaurant for surprising my daughter with a cake during breakfast on her birthday. Definitely will visit again. Teshan

My husband and I booked a 2 night stay with our 2 Grandchildren and were very pleasantly surprised at the size of the estate on arrival. Check-in was easy and we were placed in the annexe at one end of the building. This was not a problem as the two Grandchildren enjoyed the walk through the corridors of the building to the main part of the house but as a couple would prefer to be in the main building. Our issue with the room was that it had no air conditioning, the room was very hot at night, also a bit dated and the water pipes made a loud noise when running the taps. There was, however, a selection of toiletries and slippers and bathrobes. Service in the main Restaurant was good but I'm vegetarian and there was very limited options. I opted for the pasta and ended up with exactly the same meal as my grandson - just a slightly larger portion but at 3 times the price - very disappointed with my main meal. I feel they could do more here, however the grandchildren had a lovely meal and enjoyed playing outside between courses. Breakfast selection though is very good with plenty to choose from. The spa and swimming pool is very nice. The ladies changing facilities are very good and clean with lots of space, plenty of showers and private areas to change. The grounds are very well kept and there is plenty of parking. All in all we had a lovely stay and will return again.

On Sunday 13th August 2023 I started to book a 7 night holiday for a family member. The family member in question will be in a wheelchair at the time of the visit in late October 2023 as their right leg will be in plaster. Whilst trying to book the hotel on the Marriott website I noted there was no provision to book an accessible rooms. You could book a room with a cancellation facility, but you had to cancel the day before arrival. So before making the formal booking I telephoned the hotel direct and spoke to their reception. I was informed, that the hotel has 3 accessible rooms and that I could request an accessible in the comments box within the online reservation. The problem is (according to the receptionist), this would not garrantee an accessible room on arrival. So the scenario on arrival would have been : The family member would have arrived after 3pm (check-in) and after the cancellation refund time and would be told "sorry no accessible room is available" ! The hotel receptionist would have then pointed out their online Terms and Conditions and probably shrugged their shoulders. My family member would then have to find and pay for another hotel and be out of pocket of orginal sum of around £1600 paid to Marriott. As a normally able bodied family I am surprised that the Hanbury Manor hotel can treat its disabled customer like this. I can now understand why there is so much disgruntlement in the way certain organisations treat disabled customers. It should be noted that I have managed to make a reservation with another Marriott hotel after making a similar telephone enquiry prior to my online booking. That hotels receptionist fully explained what to do and on making our booking did confirm via email that an accessible would be ready for us on arrival in October.

Just back from another wonderful stay at Hanbury Manor. It was our wedding anniversary and the staff made it a memorable one. We were welcomed with balloons, a lovely card and some Prosecco from Anna and the Front Office team. Little touches like this really make a stay special. Sid, James and the team in the kitchen put on wonderful steaks in the Cast Iron Grill - I highly recommend the squid starter on the new menu too. The charming Marion took care of all our needs in the dining room. We were also there for the Legends Golf Tour, which was so well organised and we got to see some brilliant golf! We popped into Vardons for a glass or two and were greeted by the always bright and cheery Marlena. Thank you all for a fabulous weekend.

Lovely place for a very girly weekend. Reception was friendly and helpful, bedroom was well presented and had good facilities for tea/coffee, lovely size bathroom. Spa facilities were great, whirlpool, steam, sauna, swimming pool. Great spa treatments, spoilt for choice. Breakfast in the morning was lovely, again spoilt for choice. Awesome facilities and beautiful grounds. Will Definately be going again. Thank you

I wondered why I hadn’t been to Hanbury Manor for a while and decided to give it another go only to be reminded why I’ve not been back in some time. I’m only one night stay into a 3 night commitment and I’m already dreading bedtime. The rooms and most importantly the beds have not been updated since I was last here in 2018. The decor is very outdated and the beds are extremely comfortable and dipping in the middle. Also there is no air con in the rooms. You have a fan that blows hot air around making it extremely uncomfortable in warmer weather. The food in the bar was very hit and miss. Fish and chips were great! Pizza ok. Chicken tenders for the kids were not tender, instead hard and inedible and looked like they’d been sat in the freezer for a year plus served with a gloopy Thai sweet chilli sauce. Tabouli salad was shocking. The restaurant is a jack of all trades but a master of none. The grounds are gorgeous but the accommodation itself is desperate for a well needed upgrade. The pool is great for the kids and the saving Grace is a rabbit that seems to live permanently outside the pool doors in the sun terrace. Until they replace the beds and update the rooms I definitely won’t be back.

Hanbury Marriott was a nice experience. A big and nice hotel with some old tradition with it. Upon check in we have received a nice welcome by rodrigo. During that moment we received some issues with our card. therefore we had to step aside and wait at the lobby. Shortly, Katie stepped in and had patience with us and later helped us with many possibilites and later solved our problem. She even escorted us till our room with the golf cart. A definetely going the extra mile service. The same day we went to eat dinner and we had some fun conversation with budgie and marian, who gave us an excellent service. At the end Kathlyn came with our dessert and we exchanged conservation. she looks like daphne from the bridgerton series. we asked her if she was aware of it and laughed together. During our check out we took time to explore the whole resort, which was really beautiful and in the end we went to wait for an hour at the lobby. during our waiting time we got to meet our buddy Oliver, who approached us and whom we had a nice conversation with. he was so good at making sure everyone had their drinks and checked every time if things are okay. Hopefully, we get to see him if we come back in the near future

We had a lovely swim, steam room, chilled outside in the sunshine before having the most amazing massage. Megan knew exactly what I needed, delivered with the perfect pressure and advised me on my pain issues. Very professional, clean , calm , warm and friendly, would definitely recommend. All area's are clean with towels, robes, shower essentials, hair dryer, costume spinner with plastic bags supplied for taking damp things home. We then went on to have a lazy, summertime afternoon tea. The sandwiches were lovely, very cleverly took my husbands dietary needs into consideration. The cakes and scones were gorgeous, washed down with your chosen tea. I also had a cheeky proseco. Anything we could manage to eat , we were given two boxes to take the remainder home. The staff were very attentive, making sure we lacked nothing and were happy with what we had presented to us, all gorgeous. Loved the historic buildings, and beautiful grounds to walk some of our tea off. Thank you , we have been thoughly looked after and spoilt. Definitely going to book again! Would recommend.

Service in the restaurant was very good no complaints, the wine is considerably over priced and the steak was the worst I have eaten in years, £36 for a 300g steak which was the quality of something you would expect in a low end pub made up of more fat than meat and equivalent of chewing a piece of chewing gum (furthermore it was not fresh, it seemed a defrosted steak and then cooked yielding a complete lack of flavour). Steakt back once, received another which was even worse quality than the first. Other food was fairly reasonable but overall considerably overpriced for the quality and I expected far better in a 4* hotel like this. Seems like the chef/s need replacing as they are allowing such poor quality meat to be served. We chose to eat elsewhere for our 2nd night.

Excellent guest focussed service. 10/10 for Yetmir and team for a lovely dinner experience and catering for dietary requirements with chef ahead of our stay. All 7 of us enjoyed our meals. Thank you

The market soup is ok. Waiting 30 mins for our main course. The salmon steak is even worsen than homemade. The ribeye steak is not fresh and tasted very bad. The only bad experience in this hotel is this restaurant.

The fish and chips and the burgers and side order of sweet potato fries seemed to come up okay, although it all took a long time arriving. The poached salmon salad with roasted heritage carrots and honey and lemon dressing was exceptionally poor however. For £15.50 you get a couple of handfuls of rocket with 1/2 a fillet of poached salmon springled with an incredibly oily dressing that lacked any flavour but oil. The most suprising thing is although the carrots are roasted and the salmon poached it is all freezing cold! Yes it is a salad but one expects from the description that it will be somewhat warm... cold roasted vegetables do not make a nice dish. This dish needs rethinking completely. Very expensive mark up on ingredients that would cost less than a fiver and were not put together to be appetising.
