Booked a table at late notice. Mark (The owner) accommodated us even though full. The food served was a big portion and had to take a doggie bag home. Mark and Connor’s service was brilliant. Next time I am in the IOW from South Africa I will definitely go for a meal.

We decided to try Barbosa for our anniversary dinner and have to say this was the best anniversary dinner ever!My other half booked a table for us via the website and called in to reserve a table. The website is easy to navigate and it’s easy to get in contact to reserve a table. Since Barbosa is a small but very popular place, I highly recommend you to book a table to avoid disappointment.It’s a very cosy and relaxing restaurant. Compared to most restaurants you don’t get this feeling of people constantly rushing back and forth which was very nice. The booths make it very comfortable and private. I love the floral decor there and the unique lighting.The food there looks amazing and is so delicious too! Everything on the menu looks good. We really enjoyed the food and were so stuffed !Connor the waiter / barman was very friendly and very attentive. When we walked in he created us straight away and made sure the table was clean and presented us the menu. The restaurant was full when we arrived. When one of the tables in a booth finished we asked whether we could move from the table we were at to the booth as it’s more comfy there. Connor then gave the booth a quick clean and moved us. He tend told us that we could win a lemon ? cello if we can tell him what movies all the cars ? in the picture frames are from. I loved how the owner made this restaurant relaxing but yet interactive too. My partner and I had fun figuring out what movies ? these cars were from and managed to get them all right. Since I already had a lychee martini ? I didn’t want the lemon cello so I asked whether I could have a coke instead as I’m quiet a lightweight. I was so thankful that I could have a soft drink instead the shot. We just had a wonderful experience at Barbosa!Whether you are visiting the Isle of Wight or live here, you have to try this place! We live here on the Isle of Wight and have restaurants ourselves. This is definitely my new favourite restaurant and there is something also we have learned that we could change at our restaurants.Thank you so much everyone at Barbosa ?

Had a meal for two at the end of summer - I was previously a chef & eat out quite a lot - this place was a fabulous find, do so glad we took the time to visit. 1 veggie burger, 1 beef burger, shared some corn rubs, which were devine. Service was attentive and relaxed, nice little car quiz too. food was an absolute solid 10 out if 10. Can't recommend this place enough. We will def be back. Don't hesitate - get yourself booked in.

They are a very unique restaurant with a couple of hidden challenges where you can win a shot of limoncello which you just don’t see nowadays. Staff are incredibly smiley, accommodating and efficient. Brilliant first experience with amazing food, will definitely be coming back!

I'm going to preface this review with the fact I love my wife very much and love talking to her. Hopefully this will add context to the fact that once our food arrived we didn't say a word to each other until we were stuffed and happy. You need to eat here. If you go to the IoW and only eat in once place let it be here. The car game is a fun quirk that got the whole establishment involved. Go to Barbosa people!
My partner and I have visited barbosa before a couple of years ago and were egar to go back when in Bembridge. We decided to call by this evening and see if we could nab a table, we were lucky (usually booking is advised). The place is small, but perfectly set out, I like the fact that it's not overly busy and full of people and noise chat etc. The music is cool and not too loud, the decor is spot on for the place and the food....amazing! Perfectly cooked which only indicates the chef, knows his stuff. The young lady, Katelyn who served us with both drinks and our meal was lovely. Her cocktail skills are brilliant ? well worth trying! Thanks guys for making our last evening on the island an enjoyable one and we'll see you soon when we return ?

This place is amazing. Went tonight Friday the 3rd of November. I had tried before but they are always fully booked. I can see why the minute we walked in the door the atmosphere was incredible and the waitress was awesome. We had some cocktails and some top notch food. We felt very at home and the service was first class. We can not wait to go back I would highly recommend this restaurant. Might be our new go to place to eat and drink

Tasty, flavourful, large portions, which were very filling but we still had room for the brownie!! Lovely decor, family friendly and most importantly dog friendly. The food was freshly cooked by one chef and just one waitress, which will tell you how small it is inside. Perfect place to eat. I had to change the time of the booking by email due to a change in Ferry times back to the mainland, and the owner was very kind and accommodating. Had to also reduce the number in the party dining and again, the owner replied really quickly, I felt like a pest, but was never made to feel so by the staff. A lovely final meal after a great family holiday.
