A lovely place to enjoy lunch with a friend. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The building has a beautiful window on the upper floor & pays homage to its previous life as a shoe shop. I always try to eat here when I visit the Island.

We were looking for somewhere to eat but as I have Coeliac we were checking menus to see what was available in Cowes. My husband spoke to a very friendly and helpful waitress who informed him that as everything was made on site I could have grilled cod and chips. Which was great. Then when our order went through to the chef he came out and spoke to me and offered to make me a gluten free batter. Which was excellent. ? I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner as did my husband who isn't a coeliac. The waitress even brought over a fresh bowl of water for our dog. We were treated perfectly. We were on the Isle of Wight for a short break. But when we return in we will head to Jolliffes again. Outstanding restaurant who went that extra mile. Thank you ?

Nothing pretentious about Jolliffes but a great range of lovely food for a quick 'ish lunch. Sandwiches and wraps all freshly made with tasty accompniments. Coffe is really good and a fine range of all other drinks.

A charming building but so disappointing. We made our order of food and 2 cokes 1 with ice and one without. Both came with no ice. Then the food came…. No cutlery. We had to wait for that to arrive from downstairs. Not rocket science is it just basic service. Then the burger came. Advertised as Isle of Wight beef burger which looked good however it was overcooked and rock hard. But the taste of the meat took me back to the burgers from the 80’s supermarkets. No I didn’t raise these issues as they shouldn’t have been there In the first place and really let the day down. Costs were reasonable so was portion size. If having the burger I suggest questioning if the meat was Isle of Wight meat and handmade or just from the Isle of Wight cash and carry.

The restaurant is historic, the décor quirky, the location is perfect, and service is friendly and welcoming (though amateurish). We had high expectations, but we were disappointed by the very average food - the bacon was more burned than crispy, toast was cold, and the omelet bland and lukewarm. Coffee was fine and the giant scone was great!

Fantastic spot with lovely staff. Their (Oatly) flat white and baked goods are just delicious. And the atmosphere on the first floor is very homey.

Had breakfast here. More on the expensive side but certainly worth it. Service was very friendly. What I liked most was the food was well prepared and served quickly. Drinks were great and the vibe is great

We popped in here for breakfast the other day with the kids. We were quite early, so there weren't any issues getting a table. The staff were super friendly. The food was delicious. The full english I had was great, though I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on the sweet potato wedge in lieu of hash browns, but it's a nice spin none the less. Plenty of options on the menu for all tastes, and the kids were happy with their toast and bacon sandwiches. Definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.

My family and I visited Jolliffes in Coves during a family holiday. The beautiful weather made the choice to sit outside an easy one. Unfortunately, due to the unsuitability tables and the slop of the street a table of three drinks sled into the lap of myself and young daughter. One of which being and hot espresso. Very little apology’s were offered or alternatives seating. The food we ordered was far too expensive for the quality of the food, its lack of flavour and poor service. I had to manoeuvre the table and wedge it level using a drain cover and wedge I have on my car key. Drinks were moved from the wonky table to another to ensure no more drinks slipped into my kids laps.
