Gurnard Press Bistro
31 Worsley Rd, CowesWe were gifted a sharing platter.
Phoned to book the platter and arrange collection. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, the order was ready for collection as arranged.
The food was delicious and more than enough for two. I would definitely use the Gurnard Press again and recommend.

The Galley
11 Ferry Rd, East CowesOrdered a takeaway from here while we were staying locally. Ordered on line and very quickly had a call to say food was ready. Portions were great and all the food was hot and very tasty. I had the porky smash burger with a side of loaded wedges. Rest of family had burgers which were good too.

Cowes Tandoori
Cowes Indian Tandoori Restaurant, 40 High St, CowesNothing Special.
With decent reviews, and having not been here in years, we decided to visit tonight.
Everything was just a bit flat, no smiles or energy from the team, food nothing special sadly.
No alc. free options, and at £5.95 for a bottle of still water, I just had tap water. Husband had a couple of Cobra, which was of course fine.
Food prices okay.
Popadoms fresh and choice of pickles.
Couple of largish groups in the restaurant, and the other Indian restaurants in town were completely empty, so maybe this is actually the best you find in Cowes ☹️

Spice-Central-Cowes
107 High St, CowesWhat a lovely surprise!
We stayed in Cowes over the Easter weekend and decided on an Indian take away on Saturday. We ordered for 10, the food arrived hot and was delicious, we chose some starters and a selection of lamb, prawn and chicken curries with rice and naans. There was a one small issue (which was most likely an oversight on our part) regarding our order, we called Raj he was amazing and immediately resolved the issue to our satisfaction.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough both in terms of quality of food and customer service.
Thank you Spice Central, we look forward to returning soon!

Folly Inn
Folly Ln, East CowesWe just arrived on the Island and after a 11 hour drive from Germany, we were hungry.
This time we chose the Folly Inn ( Best choice we made ) as it's just down the road from East Cowes....
We wanted to eat at around 18 hrs but the animated booking system told us that was booked out but room would be available at 1845...
When we got there, we where greeted by a friendly staff and directed to a table as requested near a window and room for our dog...
All the staff were super especially Sophie, who took care of us during the evening....
The food and portion where super.
The food very tasty and the portions the correct size that we could eat all our food and all three courses.
We can only recommend this place ..
We will definitely be back ..

Eegons Cafe
85 High St, CowesI’m not a frequent visitor to this warm and friendly establishment. I’m from far across the water, but it does make a great excuse to go boating in the colder (and wetter) weather.
The most perfect comfort breakfast with all the major food groups represented: tea, black pudding, eggs and sausage to name but a few. The Bonanza Breakfast - heartily recommended.
The world rushes around with lattes held outstretched in front of them like a 21st century shield warding off the dangerous phone holders. Step into Eegon’s and you are removed from that world in an instant. It is relaxing, warm of welcome and just a lovely place to be.
Perhaps I should keep that to myself? No, it needs to be frequented and appreciated for what it is. Try it, you will most certainly love it.

Baked By Jen
37 Cross St, CowesBrilliant place. Such a wonderful array of unique baked goods. Great price.
My only criticism is that on my visit, there was a cake and cookies on the top counter - uncovered and presumably left out in the open all day. Exposed to spit etc. as the counter is just at head level.
Shame as was eyeing up the cookies.
Won't stop me from returning however, will just stick to goods kept in the glass case. Service was smiley. 4/5 just because of the lack of consideration for goods placed where airborne germs etc can fly about.

The Anchor Inn
1-3 High St, CowesThe Anchor is my local and so I had heard about their new menu, which featured steak and kidney pudding, known in the Royal Navy as ‘babies’ heads’! As a result, it was the perfect place to take my wife for lunch on her birthday, since it is a dish that we both love.
We were not disappointed. The puddings were perfect and very filling and were accompanied by lovely mashed potato and fresh vegetables, with loads of wine fortified gravy.
We will certainly be back!

Tonino's Italian Restaurant
8-9 Shooters Hill, CowesThe food here is seriously amazing. Authentic Italian and family run. Nothing is too much trouble - asked them to replace spaghetti with Penne and my favourite the tricolor salad, mozzarella with IOW tomatoes and Basil was no longer on menu and they said just ask for it - we can do it! First class service and great atmosphere. I’ve never been disappointed there. Top drawer!

Compass Bar
10 High St, CowesNot bad. Stopped by on a wet Monday morning. Took a while for the staff to acknowledge us standing at the counter. Don’t expect table service but a quick “hello” might have been nice.
We had coffees various and toasty. All of them very tasty and well presented. Can’t really say much more than that really.
It’s a very nice cosy place, music at the right level and felt very nice to sit in with a couple of sofas and cushions. We stayed for a while.
In all very nice. A tad on the expensive side I’d say for a toasty that was just normal plain brown bread, but the whole combo was, as I say, tasty.
The staff are friendly enough but they could just do with welcoming people with a quick hello etc. it goes a long way.
Coffee shops is a crowded market so you do have to be good and you do have to add value. A very nice place, nice coffee, but there are plenty of coffee shops to choose from.

The service was friendly. Food arrived quickly. Will definitely recommend!

Manny's Baguettes
63A High St, CowesI had a "All the way Omelet" that was a suggestion made by Manny. At the end I had a home made Pastel de Nata. The place has a great atmosphere and seems a meeting point for locals to stop and chat with Manny and have a hot drink.

31 Bath Rd, CowesI went here with 3 friends for a quick lunch. We all loved this place! Really friendly and efficient service and a nice range of well priced food choices, prepared freshly. The train set running all around the cafe just below the celing was a fun, quirky touch. I'm an island dweller and will add this to my list of places to take friends and family. Brent says hello by the way! Thank you Place to Eat!

7 Mill Hill Rd, CowesOrdered a takeaway so cannot comment on the atmosphere but the food was very tasty, hot and fresh when it arrived. The best Chinese takeaway in Cowes. The only negative comment to make is our order came to £45 but we didn’t get a free bag of prawn crackers!

Costa Coffee
112 High St, CowesNot a lot different than any other Costa you will have been to. The drinks are the same etc and similar layout. This chain is smaller than the others on the Isle of Wight. Also note that you need a code to access the toilet from the staff and I believe you have to make a purchase to be able to get the code.
