This is no longer a restaurant we haven’t seen any sign of people there but it is above the beach which is dog friendly all year round.

A wonderful, last, bittersweet stay. Such an enormous treat to be able to stay in one of our favourite places just down the road, have it almost all to ourselves, and have Ben and Jay cook all our favourite things... (but know you’ll never go back

We have been in Cowes for part of the year over the last five years. This was our first visit to the Little Gloster. It was terrific. The food was excellent and the wine list very accessible. Even though a grey day being on the water is a treat. The service was friendly and relaxed. I had gravadlax and a flat iron steak with delicious chips--and I am not a great lover of chips. Lovely souffles for dessert. I thought the price quality ratio was great and look forward to my next visit.

We stayed here one night for our first anniversary, in the Balcony Suite. Beautiful location, on entering the room the view literally takes your breath away. We had a couple of drinks downstairs in the bar ( & sat outside for one, it was a pleasant day ) & while doing so asked Holly where she would recommend to go for dinner that evening. She gave us a great recommend in Coast ( seperate review left ) and booked a table for us & ordered us a taxi. Spending an hour or so sat on that wonderful balcony I then didn’t want to go out !! We had a lovely sleep, although we did have to open the door & windows as it did get rather warm in the room, the duvet was very thick. Breakfast was lovely & we didn’t want for anything. Lovely place, lovely staff, we’d love to come back.

..in agreement with previous review. On an utterly filthy night, we were as snug (and smug) as bugs in the Balcony Suite which had everything one could need to admire the raging sea while feeling warm and cosy - and knowing that a few steps away was the always-lovely restaurant. The usual excellent dinner with their passion fruit soufflé to finish, and a sound sleep. And our faultless breakfast in the morning just made us sad we’d only booked one night. This place ticks all the boxes.

We went for Sunday lunch. We were treated to a really nice table overlooking the Solent The service was exceptional everyone was working together to provide a first class service We really enjoyed our food. We skipped the starter and went straight to the Monkfish which was on the specials board and it was cooked to perfection The meals on the menu all had recommended wines, something we have tried in other restaurants and we know is successful. For dessert we both had Soufflé and really enjoyed them Granted it isn’t cheap but it is worth the prices. Definitely

What better way to watch Storm Denis do its worst than sitting in the restaurant at The Little Gloster and having a lovely Sunday lunch. Excellent roast beef, great wine and wonderful service made this visit very special. We will be back soon!

I must of been here about 30 times and I am amazed at how they manage to maintain such a high standard despite changing there menu on a regular basis. Great food superb location and a very warm welcome.

On its own website, the Little Gloster describes itself as “a family run restaurant with rooms” which, (if our experience is any indication), is like describing a Bentley as an upmarket Volkswagen. I suppose a Bentley is, (as Bentley is owned by VW), and the same goes for the Little Gloster as it is a restaurant with rooms but so much, much more. Everything flows from the attention to detail. Our room, (a complimentary upgrade), was the superb Balcony Suite. In describing the room, deciding where to begin would be difficult but I suppose the feature that impressed the most, would be the balcony itself. Trust me, none of your “Juliet balcony” nonsense here. It’s large, has its own furniture, is a literal stones-throw from the sea and – especially on a cold, rainy, December day – sheltered. If the balcony was terrific, it was matched by the rest of the room. The bed was supremely comfy, furniture and fixtures were of the highest quality and lots of little special touches. A pair of binoculars, jars of sweets, biscuits, as well as the, (for us at least), almost essential capsule coffee machine. The usual complimentary toiletries were available, as well as some excellent bathrobes. Some reviewers have highlighted the small size of the bathroom and to be honest, it was pretty small but it gave us no problems. Instead of carping about physical dimensions, why not congratulate the owners for the best utilisation of space? The breakfast was perfect. I know it shouldn’t bother me but how much waste must be generated by the ubiquitous “buffet breakfast”? Breakfast at the Little Gloster avoids the problem, by the simply supplying you with a menu. You are requested, (not ordered), to decide on your breakfast choices the day before and it works like a dream. Everything we had was prepared fresh and delicious and used absolutely first class ingredients. When I think of the horrors most buffet-style breakfasts deliver, (“scrambled” eggs, slowly desiccating above a low heat-source for example), the Little Gloster breakfast was a delicious dream. We were so impressed by the Little Gloster that as soon as we returned home, we booked again for a break in the spring. Hopefully the weather will be a little kinder but even if it isn’t – staying at the Little Gloster is a joy in itself.

Amazing food with beautiful presentation and great service. Would highly recommend a visit here not too overpriced for the quality. We will come again for sure!
