Cafes in Canterbury
“Lovely setting just off the beaten track. Outside seating in the garden as well as inside. Service a little slow at busy lunchtime but all staff friendly, polite and helpful. Dog-friendly in the garden. Good range of lunches, cakes and lite bites.”
“Nice little coffee & pastry shop. Bacon quiche was really nice. My partner ordered german sausage baguette - bread was really good but sausage & filling can be better. Fruit pie was fresh. Coffee & hot choc were standard. Staffs were friendly and place is cozy.”
“⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐Highly recommend the Oriole @:The Lime Tree. Great place to work on a laptop. Beautiful views. Top marks for staff and coffee too.”
“Popped in randomly as had never been in before. Really friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere and the ruby cocoa cooler was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be going back”
“The best peach iced tea Ive ever had and the staff were so friendly. Amazing experience and I will definitely be coming back ?Wheelchair accessibility: They have a lift/elevator.”
“We visited here as a family of 5 on a Sunday morning for brunch. Food was okay, staff seemed friendly. However we had to be seated at 2 different tables because they couldn't seat 5 at a table at the time we went in. This was a little disappointing but it was busy so understandable.”
“Huge menu of English food. Good portions, freshly made. I had cheese on toast which was nice but could have had abit more flavour cheese was very mild. Staff are friendly and helpful. Big mugs of coffee.Parking: Car park to side off road.”
“Myself and my partner knew we had to come here for brunch in the morning- we certainly weren't disappointed! My partner had full English breakfast and I had maple pancakes - both incredibly delicious. All the men who served us were really lovely as well, it felt like a very safe comfortable environment to relax inI would only say that after eating, it took quite a while to take the plates away,, we didn't mind too much as we weren't in a rush. I then ordered an Ice Matcha Latte to write this review with, and it is INSANE!! one of the best I ever had. Thanks ?”
“Im doing a job on reed avenue and been going here everyday for my lunch, lovely bit of grub and worth every penny ?”
“As a local, Phoebes is my go-to place when I want to have coffee or lunch out with a friend. Everything is fresh and beautifully presented, and I'm not a cake person but they do look rather appealing! The welcome is always very warm and inclusive too and the service is excellent. I'm autistic and struggle with the noise and activity of the larger chains in town so the smaller, calm space of Phoebes really suits me. Also, I regularly meet with a trans friend at Phoebes because I know that it's a safe and comfortable place for both of us, and she has never felt anything other than valued by the staff. I cannot recommend Phoebes highly enough if you want coffee and cake or a light lunch, and especially if you want it in an olde worlde venue. They offer such great quality and value - and a big smile!”
