Lovely traditional pub, the food was delicious albeit felt a little pricey. The table felt a little crammed in but it was certainly nicer to be in the pub side with the fire rather than the larger empty dining area. It was a Thursday evening so not so

A group of four of us had lunch. The turkey and leek pie was excellent but looked to be on the small side on quite a large plate, the tagliatelli also excellent, the crispy beef was disappointing as it was so chewy it was too difficult to eat. The broccoli stems were also hard. To their credit they offered to replace it. However, we opted to keep it and eat the noodles etc. so were not charged for it. The sausages and mash was wonderfull with a superb gravy. The desserts were also good however, custard was not an option with the sticky toffee pudding, although our waitress said most people asked for it. A chocolate brownie was served to us by mistake, but left anyway, whilst the correct pudding was obtained, but it was however rather dry.Would we go again - it was not cheap, but probably.

Everything a country pub should be - warm, friendly, good service and great food. It’s a little more expensive than similar places in the area but the food is worth it - much better than normal pub grub. Definitely a place to return to.

Great, traditional pub with all the charm. An open fire, wood beams, great food and a charming atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Outstanding pub.Beautiful interior, old barn, date inside 1607. Very kind and helpful staff, delicious, freshly made food. Amazing place. Definitely worth to visit.Unusual is that customers don’t speak loudly. You can spend some time with your friends or family in quiet atmosphere. Can’t wait for next meal there. The Weatsheaft, thank you very much. See you soon. As soon as possible.

What a Gem. Excellent impromptu late lunch on cold Monday in January. Every dish was perfect in portion size, taste, appearance and timing of arrival. Lovely service with a warm welcome from a guy from South Africa (didn’t get his name sorry) Well done, will be back.

Popped in after a little prang with the bridge just outside. Seemed lovely.

We had a wonderful Christmas Day dinner at The Wheatsheaf. The setting was incredibly cosy and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I think the price we paid per person was fair considering it was Christmas Day and we got a lot of food for our money. I cannot fault any of the food and drinks we had: everything was delicious and cooked well. We enjoyed it so much we are planning on having next Christmas here.
