We arrived shortly after food had stopped being served but they pulled out all the stops and managed to find something for us all. Both myself and my other half were so thankful. The food was delightful and they were warm, welcoming and helpful. Whole heartedly recommend without hesitation.

I hadn’t been here before, but I will certainly be back. My elderly mother, wife and I had lunch. The menu has typical pub dishes, but what elevates the food is the quality of the ingredients and the cooking - for example, the chips are triple-cooked and the beef and ale pie was very well filled (probably the best pie I have eaten in a pub). The building is beautiful and steeped in history. All of the above would have been sufficient to have made this a most enjoyable lunch...read full review

Never a dull moment in The Castle!These guys have nailed it, the friendly welcoming, warm & friendly country village pub!Busy pub with staff who must be telepathically connected as nobody waits for drinks or help.Food is proper home cooked and we could not fault it, wine was lovely and well priced.Serious fun with the locals, the people passing through and the staff are just brilliant at keeping the interaction going.Amazing time. Thank you!!
