We first visited here for a Sunday lunch and got a great table in its huge garden with stunning views, the roasts were delicious and plentiful and the staff are really friendly. Their homemade sausage meat stuffing is the best I have ever had in any pub or restaurant I have eaten in ( it’s worth going for that alone)! Perfect little pub for a cosy drink and one of the most enjoyable roast dinners I’ve had. Plenty of meat, plenty of freshly cooked veg inc cauliflower cheese (yum) and fantastic roast potatoes. Oh and the Yorkshires…. HUGE!
We visited today, as a halfway meeting point for our family to meet up between Essex and East Sussex, what wonderful food we had! Enormous portions, perfect roasties,good range of veg, cauli cheese, sausage stuffing ball etc. We had various roasts - beef, chicken and lamb shank and kids nuggets! All cooked to perfection, we had an issue with just the one beef as was just a dodgy cut but we were generously compensated by Katy to enhance our overall experience.
