Lovely pub in a lovely setting, nice traditional ambiance and very helpful, polite and friendly staff. However, the food wasn't great to say the least. My steak was cooked okay but the peppercorn sauce was watery and tasteless the chips overdone and also the onion rings. My father's beef and beer pie was watery and tasteless and accompanied by a bowl of over cooked veg. Such a shame as like I say, the pub itself, the setting and the staff were all great. You need to have a word with your chef guys.

Had a lovely lunch. Food was hot and freshly cooked, proper pub grub great portions. Loved it. Service by the staff was fantastic polite and friendly and happy to have a chat. Good beer selection as well. Definitely going

Great pub, great food and lovely friendly staff. I'm visiting the area with my dogs and I called to double check they were allowed. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was great, really good quality and good value too. We were well looked after, I'd visit again.

Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday. Took the dog, who enjoyed a bit of everyone's food. They arranged a table for the 8 of us. The food was great and the welcome very warm. The only thing is the car park is a bit small for the numbers that have found this marvelous place.Vegetarian options: Our daughters say they are really tasty and there is a fair choice.Parking: Only small but just a short walk there is some street parkingKid-friendliness: Kids menu and they are made to feel specialWheelchair accessibility: Big ramp up to the door to the restaurant and snug. Disabled toilet easily found

Took the dog for a walk in a local country park and needed lunch. Found this delightful pub. Very family and dog friendly. The food is great, freshly cooked and locally sourced. So welcoming we will be returning.

Beautiful characterful venue, friendly staff, good food. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were accommodating when we said we hadn’t booked. Good quality food, was impressed how quickly it came out, even though they were busy. Definitely worth a visit!!!
We have never been to rose and crown before but we were amazed how much thought had gone into regarding making the pub wheelchair accessible the owners seemed really nice people will return one Sunday fore lunch was advised to book thanks
