Wow what a waste of money. Food...service and atmosphere awful, extortionate for a chippy tea. Owners are rude, obnoxious . Staff are overworked and under payed. If they don't like you ....it shows in the standard and quality of Food you receive. Not to mention the sheds outback used to prepare food.

Winner of the Scouts 2024 Chip Shop Challenge!! Cornford’s is a great fish and chip shop, with some indoor seating, over 50 menu items, and great customer service. The very nice lady who works there was able to give us some extra for our challenge and everyone at Scouts admitted they were the best. It is situated in a nice parade of shops and is next to Penenden Heath. Go in and enjoy yourself!!RATINGS: (/5)Price: 4 - Some items are a tad expensive!Friendliness: 5 - Everyone who works there is very kind and helpful!Range: 4 - No pineapple fritters!Location: 5 - Very easy to get to and where you need it!Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options, not sure what, as I am not a vegetarian myself!!Dietary restrictions: I can’t really say much myself, but I believe there would be options for most dietary restrictions. There is definitely something vegetarian but I can’t be sure of the others.Parking: About 20 spots directly outside. Badly cooked chips, all hard and barely warm when served. Small portion £2.80 is just that only big enough for a child. Will drive by in the future.

Very soggy and the batter was no crunchy at all! The base of the fish batter remained completely stuck to the paper and we had to pull it out with the fork Also I found a lot of fish bones. Chips were quite good.

Had got home and didn't fancy cooking, looked up fish ans chip shops remembered cornfords and was happy it was open, ordered online went to pick it up and the lady that served me apologized and said they didn't have the pie I had ordered and would I mind having a different one, I said no that's fine and went with the chicken and mushroom one instead, food was hot and well worth the money I paid it really hit the spot we definitely will be back.

Very Disappointed tonight been coming here for a number of years and always had good food and service but tonight food was poor fish much smaller than normal and lots of bones batter was crunchy to the point of being hard chips had clearly been out to long as getting cold savaloy has dry .Staff very unorganised and clearly having trouble getting the orders out , probably won't be coming back
You used to use this many years ago. When the place was absolutely chocolate block. But most recently, it was near empty only one member of staff. The fish even though nice was very oily, and it seemed a little expensive.

I just got a bag of chips from here 12 noon time. Some of the chips were cold, some had been reheated, some were over greay. So bad I threw the full bag in the bin.

All I can say is amazing. 32 meals prepared on a busy Saturday night, for some very hungry Young Farmers at the County Show. Despite their fears that the food might have got a bit cold as we were late to collect, it was still piping hot by the time we drove back to Detling. Every meal was correct as per the order. A big thank you to the team at Cornfords who were extremely helpful and cheerful. Kind regards Ian.

Ordered a small cod and chips today. Fish was cooked to order but only took about 6mins which is more than acceptable. Chips were well cooked and the fish tasted great, nice crispy batter. Thank you.
