The only saving grace for this pub is the outstanding quality of a good Harveys Pint and the changing hands of many managers in the past that have always been very friendly. But one of the many issues that has always stood out in this pub, is the employment of young in-experienced staff. It is difficult to enjoy a meal in the dinning room area as your order always either comes incomplete or not atall. Just seems to be a lack of communication between the front of house staff and the kitchen, which is a real shame. The newest manager is a wierd and wonderful character as he seems very eager to take away your dessert plate from your table. And they're a bit mean with the custard. I was asked 3 times in the space of an hour by him and his member of staff if I had finished with it yet. Other irritating moments arose throughout the night, which had me not even finishing my beer and choosing to storm out of the establishement as the manger was pestering and really getting under my skin.

Absolutely brilliant food, atmosphere and service. I just popped in for a quick lunch, as I was working in a school down the road. I ended up with the most amazing sausage sandwich, and made it back to school on time. Win, win! The staff were so friendly, quick, and the food was amazing.

Lovely food in a pub with great atmosphere. It's worth booking. Locally sourced food and ales. Really friendly staff. Made many visits to this cracking pub!Parking: Parking opposite

Called in and had a nice lunch. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the beef bourguignon, we were very impressed both with the food and the value for money.

Went today for the first time, trying to support locally, Sunday roast. On arrival no one appeared to be in charge, no greetings or welcome. Young staff serving, basically require training in customer service, lacking experience. Table was not set correctly on arrival.Food very average, run out of beef. Will not be in a hurry to return, shame.

I booked our table over the phone and the lady was very helpful but insisted that the latest she could fit us in would be 3-30pm as the kitchen closed at 4pm. When we arrived the pub was very busy and we had to wait. The man behind the bar again was very polite and helpful and found a chair for my mum. Then we were shown our table and then we were served by a lady who looked very tired and didn’t make us feel very welcome. We had to wait for our Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Which unfortunately included only one sliced carrot (which was delicious by the way ) and one tiny parsnip. Plus a lot of broccoli ( maybe to make up for the missing carrots? ) The meal in our opinion was average and the food arrived at 4-30 . Thirty minutes after the kitchen closed. Perhaps when the restaurant is fully booked and very busy extend the booking times by an hour ? Nice people but average Sunday roast

The bricklayers seems to have gone right back… we were shown to a table in the restaurant and the floor around the table we were given, was covered in food, without a flinch from the waitress.we asked to move , which did happen .. . the restaurant was freezing too. Not nice to eat when ur cold.. the radiators were barely on and other guests were feeling the same… we were given a heater, reluctantly by the bar staff.. so we sat with scarfs on till it warmed up very slightly.. we didn’t have desert we just wanted to leave.. there was nil atmosphere and the restaurant carpet is desperate for a steam clean.. we live in a nice home and don’t expect to sit in a dirty, cold restaurant when there are so many eateries in Sevenoaks.. it wasn’t busy at all and now I know why.. the food, I have to say was very nice but the experience wasn’t..
