Dropped by for lunch for the second time. Pub has a lot of character and looks like it was built around the 1900s. Many original fittings and suberbly and lovingly restored. Food is served in an annex with about 6 tables. Had a pizza which could have come out of Naples. Chewy with the freshest of ingredients. The Mrs had the duck confit and was as crisp as anything. This place used to be somewhere I would avoid, but we recently revisited to meet some friends. The transformation of this place is incredible, newly decorated, great staff and the food was amazing, pizzas to die for. Worth a visit

The Imperial is due a bit of a rave. I don't think you could pretend it's fine dining. It does pizza and pasta and a small selection of other Italian dishes. The service is friendly and accommodating, the pizzas are excellent and the prices are reasonable. If you were going to go to Pizza Express, Zizzi, Bella Italia or the like and want somewhere better this is definitely it. My son and I had a really good evening. We'll be back. Probably quite regularly.
