Amazing service from our waiter (white shirt & tattooed hand) and the barman, really welcoming and friendly. Great food - the garlic bread, halloumi fries and gourmet burger were amazing.

This is our first visit here and we are not disappointed. We were greeted by friendly staff when we arrived and our table was ready early but they were happy for us to have a relaxed drink in the bar first. We were not rushed and were shown to our table when we were ready. We were looked after by Dennis today who was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, freshly prepared and good portion sizes. We had a wander into the garden after our meal which has beautiful views and walks out to the fields. There are Tiki huts available to hire if you want them and play equipment available for the children. The garden gets full sun all day long. The pub is located directly opposite Penshurst station so really convenient. We are currently sat at our table relaxing and listening to a live band. A special thanks to Dennis for looking after us. This pub is a hidden gem, we will definitely be back.

The chocolate brownie is to die for! A great place for some nice food with a fun play area just outside for the little ones. Good vegan options.

Cold pie full of fat and bits of bone. Green vegetable with it was so hard we couldnt even chew it. Were told a chicken pie and got beef. Sent it back to be reheated came back with different types of lukewarm veg on plate. This pie was not evenly heated either and bits of very dried out meat on edge. Took 2 hrs to serve 6 meals. Wasnt even busy at this point. Total confusion with serving staff. Never again. Used to be a lovely place especially the garden on a summers day.

Called in for a coffee while out for a bike ride. Beautiful pub, serves a lovely cappuccino.

Got seated straight away (2 of us) but had to wait 20 minutes for a menu to become available? Very, very slow service, for a quick lunch we were there for over 2 hours. Extremely overpriced food and small portions. Our first and sadly last time we visit.

Overall, it is an enjoyable evening. It needs better ventilation as sitting in the restaurant sweating. Took over 45 mins for food to come out. Would go back but maybe just for drinks and the service from the bar was more helpful.

Went on Sunday early evening. 3 out of 4 meals were barely luke warmHad these sent back to be heated up. They then brought cold veg out to sit on the table whilst dinners were being heated. After a good 10 minutes we all had a meal...We was then Interrupted to be told a child had been sick and the ladies loo was out of bounds.I'm sure the staff could have kept that gem of information private. Rather than tell us whilst we were eating.Maybe they could have spent the time more wisley. Clean the toilet n direct customers to disabled if they needed to use the loo.Serving up poorly heated food. We swerved on pudding. Left . Will not return

This has always been our go to for Sunday roast, admittedly we have not been for a good few months but something has changed. The service was painfully slow. Upon arrival our table of 4 was occupied by a member of staff whom was eating his dinner, thankfully he finished within a few minutes but the table was laid without being cleaned first. We then ordered drinks, but after 20 minutes we had to chase their whereabouts. Three pork roasts were measly, the beef tasted good according to my husband but the accompanying veg was sparse. Not enough cauliflower cheese for one let alone 4 ( we are all not very large), and the same with the greens. I asked for more veg but was given only swede mash and red cabbage which was the only portion of reasonable size. The gravy was bland and not enough to bother eating the Yorkshire pudding with that is saved for the end. I left it. I’m so disappointed that I will go to the wonderful Poet in Matfield where a good roast is still guaranteed.

Nice looking place but the food I'd say has good down hill. Used to be really nice in there, now it's just acceptable. Some of the food was cold. Took a while for it to come out. The burger looked like two frozen burgers from sainsburys in a bun. We went to the bar for drinks as we gave up waiting for service. We were asked if we wanted deserts menu, we did. After 20 min we decided to just get the bill and leave. Surprised it cost £12 for 1 glass of wine too.

Great food and very welcoming staff who catered beautifully for our 2 daughters who have a number of allergies. Nothing was too much trouble, with the meals adapted for them. Lovely olde world feel, giving a warm, friendly ambience.
