From the moment we walked in we were greeted by lovely wait staff, who were very friendly.Chef Rob all our meals were exceptional and could not fault.We enjoyed our evening and we will be telling our Australian friends if they ever come this way, this is a place to go.

Amazing evening at the Tallow chef table last night. The food was superb, and the wine pairing did not disappoint. The service was excellent, and seeing Rob prepare the food in front of us and being able to ask questions was fantastic. Highly recommend and will definitely go again to dine in the restaurant.

What can I say - it lives up to the hype. I'm a vegetarian and the meatless options didn't disappoint: they felt complete, and full of flavour, and very satisfying. The hash brown side dish blew both mine & my dad's minds (would have come just for that, to be honest) and the brûlée Roquefort waffles for dessert were a twist of genius. Our wonderful waitress, however, really completed the night with her brilliant service (I didn't catch her name) - often these kinds of places can feel snooty, but I felt so welcomed. Possibly the best dining experience I've ever had... really.Vegetarian options: Over 1/3 of the menu is vegetarian

Had an absolutely stunning meal at Tallow, thoroughly enjoying the February menu.The service was fab, the food was totally divine and there was a lovely relaxed environment in the restaurant.Highly recommend the pig cheeks, chicken & artichoke and truffle dumplings, also the hash browns with warm cheese mousse are a must have!Can’t wait to return!

Food was fantastic, there were two staff and they were so attentive and friendly. Really warm experience. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get their Michelin star soon. IMO best restaurant in Tunbridge Wells.

During our recent visit, we encountered some issues with our reservation. Despite booking three months in advance, a mishap in Tallow booking system led to our reservation being mistakenly cancelled, as it was confused with another customer's cancellation due to a similar name. This error left us without a dining option for the evening, which was particularly inconvenient as we had arranged childcare for the occasion. The offer to seat us within 45 minutes was appreciated but it disrupted the flow of our evening and caused significant stress given child care arrangements. We were initially assured of a meal voucher for our next visit as compensation. However, upon following up, we were disheartened to find the manager and owner questioning the validity of this offer made by her staff. I had challenged this but no response effectively being a liar in the email left a bad taste. This situation, coupled with concerns about the security of customer data in the systems has left us with a negative impression of the organisation and management of the restaurant. We can’t speak of how good the food is or how the staff were as we did not get to eat. we will not be going here again that’s is for sure. Very unprofessional for what’s supposed to be an up market experience! Note to management remediating issues like this should be simple and promises should be kept.
