I have visited The George restaurant three times now in the last couple of months. Twice for breakfast, and once on Mother’s Day for the carvery with a table of 7. The breakfast has a great selection with the hash brown bites being a particular highlight. I steer clear of most buffet breakfasts due to poor quality, but The George does it right. They cook your eggs and toast to order so they’re hot, fresh, and not rubbery like some similar places. £5.49 is an absolute bargain, as is the £2 odd extra for unlimited tea and coffee. The carvery also has a great range to choose from, and all of the meats were perfect. None of them were tough, nor dry. I noticed the gravy looked a little lumpy, but after a polite word to the chef he apologised and swiftly had it changed. It was perfect after that. The sundaes are yummy, and the rest of the regular Flaming Grill menu looks like it has a lot of choice. Something for everyone. The staff are all very friendly. A special shout-out to Bee, who has been our server for both times we’ve been for breakfast. She’s chatty, friendly, has great banter, yet is professional, and was absolutely lovely to my children. You can tell how loved she is by the regulars as they all sing her praises, and well deserved too. We’ll be back!Parking: Free parking with plenty of spaces. You just need to enter your car reg on a little screen when you arrive.Kid-friendliness: Can’t say for the other staff as they didn’t really interact with my children, but Bee was wonderful with them and even gave them a little toy each which was very sweet.

Lovely pub! Just having a refurbishment and re-opening soon I can’t wait to pop in for some lovely breakfast again and a few pints in the evening. Brilliant beer garden for the whole family to enjoy.

Went with a group on a Sunday. All had Roast Dinner (carvery), it was better than I expected all food was hot & plenty of it, nothing was too much trouble for staff. Nice frendly place, will definitely use again.

As a lorry driver and working away every Thursday night.i have bein goin in this pub on a Thursday for over a year for some food and drink.they have always made me welcome.food has always bein very good.the staff are all very friendly and the atmosphere has always bein a good one.great pub and there's not of them about

Only does a basic menu on Sunday plus a carvery. Meant to b part of the Sizzling Pub Chain. Not on Sundays though. Booked for Mothers Day online which showed sizzling pub menu, only t arrive and be given a basic pub menu. Did not stay and went somewhere else.

Service was quite slow, over an hour after booking before it arrived when it was quite.The food was low-priced and excellent, so was worth the wait in the end.

Go to the Sunday carvery every weekend with family. One time needed a takeaway at the last minute and they were very accomodating and couldnt be more helpful. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend.

Service at the bar appaling.No still water???After a mediocre lunch tried to order dessert from table..........no chance, app not working, AGAIN.Then waited over 1 hour to get desserts that were ordered. Had to ask for them.the two hot drinks NEVER materialised and we had to ask for a refund of the drinks!!!!Place was filthy. Staff were the same.I know you are cheap but I wouldn't be paid to have the experience we had yesterday.We visit very regularly, the staff are overworked and demoralised.What is going on here? it is being run into the ground.This is the only place you can get into on a Sunday with no problem.........this tells you all you need to know.
