This was a very pleasant surprise. Good eateries in our area are few and far between. We had a very pleasant greeting upon our arrival, made to feel as if our presence was welcomed. I do not know if the bearded chap who greeted us and settled us at our table was the maitre'd or a manager but he really made us feel welcome. Carvery, namely roast beef was above excellent altho sprouts and beans were dry. Chef very accommodating.The restaurant definitely could do with a refurb / brightening.Parking: Multiple parking spaces

My parents stayed at the PI next to the George, end of October. They both enjoyed their evening meal (mediteranian chicken) very much, and also their breakfast the following morning.
