We spent three nights in this lovely hotel which has friendly and professional staff and which is in a really nice location. Our room was good but a bit tired and the mattress was subsiding a bit unfortunately. The hotel seemed to be storing beds in the corridors and at the bottom of stairwells which was unfortunate and possibly a fire risk. The room lacked nets or voils and soundproofing between the rooms wasn't very good especially as the hotel encourages dog owners to bring their pets. Still, a nice few days overall.

We were a bit grumpy when we arrived as couldn’t find how to reach the car park so rang reception, then found no disabled spot available but lady on reception came out with a member of staff to help with luggage and then found us somewhere to park. Everything after that was wonderful and we were very impressed with the speed and service of the waiting staff, particularly at breakfast. Everyone was lovely and friendly and went out of their way to help.

We had a fantastic experience here this weekend! Hotel is lovely, room was lovely and staff were especially lovely! From the minute we walked through the door we had amazing 4 star hotel service, felt very welcomed and looked after. Will definitely be back

We were at the marine for a friends wedding and the whole stay was perfect. Every member of staff was polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The room was great. Food in the restaurant was amazing.

Had a fantastic lunch in the Marine on Friday for a special occasion. Having been fitted in last minute all 11 of us enjoyed our lunch from the varied and greatly priced menu. I had Chilli Squid and Ham, Egg and Chips, with a few pints of Whitstable Bay Blonde of course! Delicious food, super service with a smile from a hard working committed team who I know do everything they can, and a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon! Mine, and so many others 'local' and that says a lot. The hotel is always full of guests and rooms hired for functions and has bounced back amazingly after the pandemic! The front terrace has even reopened for Summer!Well done and thank you Team Marine as always!See you soon!Joe

Great atmosphere, lovely outside seating area for when the sun is out and you fancy a lunch in the sunshine. The staff are so kind and helpful. The food is fabulous. Great location, views out to sea. I would definitely recommend.

We stayed overnight for a mini break and despite the scaffolding, the interior was just lovely….our room didn’t overlook the sea, but was an exceptionally large room with a beautiful bathroom…And the breakfast, I can honestly say was one of the best I have ever tasted, the scrambled eggs were amazing, and the number of attentive, helpful, friendly staff was impressive…We will definitely return…

We love coming here for lunch. Such a beautiful setting with gorgeous views over the sea. Inside is super cozy and warm. The food is also delicious. Order and pay at bar and they bring to your table. Great kids menu too.

A fantastic stay! Excellent receptionist Jackie and The Manager couldn't do enough for us. I took my 82 year old Mother to stay and we had a great little break. Food, especially the fish was so tasty-well done chefs. Bar, restaurant and breakfast team were polite, cheerful and professional. Rooms were so warm, the most comfy bed I've ever slept in, clean and airy-thank you housekeeping staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our mini-break and as a local to Whitstable I thoroughly recommend The Marine. Thank you everyone for all your hard work.

Having booked a table for lunch we were shown to it and presented with the lunch menu and wine list. My wife chose the vegetarian risotto while I was drawn to the steak. I had never heard of this type of steak and cannot remember what it was called. I asked our waitress who informed me that it was a similar cut to rump steak. She advised iw was best served medium/rare as any more cooking could make hit tough. I ordered the steak, chips, tomato, mushroom and rocket as recommended. My wife enjoyed her leek and mushroom risotto lthough it did lack a little seasoning.I tried to cut my steak with the dinner knife that I was given but had to ask for a steak knife. Whilst the steak knife did enable me to cut the steak my teeth found it more of a challenge! I can't remember the last time I had such a tough steak. On the positive side, the rest was fine and so we're the deserts that we chose. So, yes give it a visit, try the food, but avoid any steak that you have never heard of!

My daughter and son in law recently had their wedding reception at the Marine hotel. The staff made their day so special. Very accommodating and excellent customer service. The wedding breakfast was absolutely brilliant, everyone loved what they had to eat and we were all looked after so well. Many of the guests stayed and we were treated to a lovely breakfast in the morning. My husband and i regularly go to the Marine hotel for coffee or lunch. The location overlooking the sea is beautiful.

5* service 5* mealWe have not been for a meal at the marine hotel since the refurbishment and what lovely decor it wasWe were served by Maisie who has worked there for a few years and really knew her wines and all the details from the menu. She was very accommodating when we asked her if we could swap and change certain items on our main’s (this is something that is often frowned upon these days). Maisie you get a well deserved 10 out of 10.We received service from 3 staff members who each had their own welcoming professional manor. OUTSTANDING!We both opted for the Chicken liver & Brandy Parfait. Beautifully presented and totally delicious. For the Mains I enjoyed The Picanha steak that was cooked to perfection, had a great flavour and was exceptionally tender. My daughter went for the British Lamb rump which is a Chef's Special and I can understand why. It was superb. So for presentation of the food 10 out of 10For the quality and flavour of all of the meals yet again another 10 out of 10.We will definitely be returning with family and would recommend anyone near or far to pop in for a drink or a fantastic meal
