Top class pub, one of the best in the whole North West. Friendly, attentive and professional staff, delicious reasonably priced food and a great selection of beer. Fantastic food and service from the two ladies that have been working today, three of us had pie, both cheese and meat were gorgeous, so were the chips and extra gravy we ordered. Really nicely decorated for Christmas, with or without the decs it's a gorgeous building with comfy bench seating along some of the walls, good size tables, clean toilets and plenty of car parking space.

The only surviving local pub in the area, having seen all its competition close over the years. Despite being the only survivor it is a lovely local pub serving the community of Walmersley.It's tied to Robinsons brewery, so beers are limited, with their Manchester bitter being the mainstay, together with the usual generic lagers etc. I had the Manchester bitter (on cask) which was in good condition.
