The chicken and watercress soup was mind blowing. Without doubt the best soup I've ever eaten. I've been thinking about it for days. I ordered it with a hot pulled pork sandwich, this was also very nice. The soup was so good I wish I'd just ordered two bowls of that though. Exceptional.
Our chicken and veg homemade broth was lukewarm, thin & not plentiful! It was served with a small barmcake/butter. It was also far too expensive for the portion size.The place was busy both inside and out and the staff were very rushed but all were friendly and efficient.Improvements are being made to the infrastructure incl toilets thank goodness and there is more parking.Overall we probably won't eat there again but maybe just for a pot of tea or a coffee.Not as good as it used...read full review

Impromptu visit here after a trip to the lakes we had a quick search of google maps and found this on our route home. Lovely place in a great spot. Food was really good and the place is dog friendly ?. We hadn’t booked but not a problem on this Sunday lunch time. Would visit again :-)
