Only had one main course that is gluten free which was very greasy halloumi. The young waitress was very polite, but astonished us well told us if you have the tandoori chicken you have to have the rice served in the same dish, when it was requested to just have the curry. The waitress did her very best throughout the evening but our group of seven was left disappointed.Dietary restrictions: When we rang to book we was informed they have an extensive gluten free menu but on arrival only halloumi was available for main meal.

Where do I even start !!!!It’s like spoons but expensiveThe place was empty and felt like it hadn’t changed in 10 years. The workers didn’t know what they were doing. It closed at 5pm, but they turned the music off at half 4 so we were sat in silence. The workers then proceeded to stare at us making us and my partner feel uncomfortable. Also pint I ordered smelt funny. They then started cleaning up around us, making the surrounding smell of cleaning fluid and bleach.Overall would not go back again. Needs to become a Wetherspoons to be honest xxP.s I would recommend going to the station across the road which is soo much better with its nice atmosphere and lovely decor and the staff are lovely too.

Went to a Christmas party with friends last Saturday night, great evening, good food , great singer and excellent smiley staff . Also called in for breakfast the following morning , I managed a full English hubby had a sausage sandwich great value for money.

I atteneded a Christmas Party night. The food was amazing, the staff were attentive and helpful, the music and singer were brilliant, the atmosphere was fantastic. best Christmas party weve been too in a while!! 5 stars ... thankyouVegetarian options: the gnocchi was lovely.

Went for Christmas party last night the food was really good and felt the event was good value for money .The guy who sang was brilliant and we got up and had a good dance .Definitely recommend it to people .

I've been coming here for years and I usually really like it. However, I got the stack of 3 "American Style" pancakes (£6.70) and was left incredibly disappointed. It comes with one topping and any additional toppings are £1 extra. I originally asked for the pancakes with blueberries and the woman who served us responded "just blueberries?" So I got maple syrup as well. I should've known by her reaction that the pancakes would be plain but for the price I'd expected better, some blueberry compote or at the very least, cream or even butter. If there is an option of getting just blueberries it should be a complete meal with just blueberries however if I hadn't got the maple syrup it would have been basically inedible because of how dry they would've been. The pancakes were also very thin and I'm not sure what about them made them "American style". I'm also not convinced the maple syrup was actual maple syrup. This experience aside, Maxwells itself is a nice café bar with a good atmosphere and the staff are usually pleasant.

As always, a great lunch with super choice and good vegan options. The scampi butty was sublime and the onion bhaji baguette and the steak melt were amazing too! Prompt and polite service and a great buzz about the place. See you again soon!

Called in, first of all to shelter from heavy rain. Staff were very welcoming. We ordered both alcoholic and non- alcoholic drinks which were quickly delivered to our table. Stayed for about an hour with a few more drinks. This place was a haven - we were happy to leave a good tip
