“Been a couple of times with work for the Christmas lunch menu which has always been fab. Came yesterday for an evening meal with my husband and little boy and again it was brilliant. Food is so good and the staff are brilliant. Really friendly/helpful but also work really hard so there isn't a long wait at the bar.”

“A lovely pub and restaurant.
Just the ticket after a 10 mile walk.
The food was excellent, lots of bears, ciders etc and reasonably priced.
We met new the owners whilst we were there, nice chaps and obviously passionate about the place.
Well worth a visit particularly if your hungry....”

“Super friendly pub ?
Great pint of Lancaster blonde, perfect temperature and pour .
We went for Sunday Lunch which for a tenner each was good. Not the best I've had to be honest but if you don't want to cook or are staying on th campsite it's spot on. Advisable to preorder if it's busy as we did and although we waited for a few minutes for the table to be ready ( whilst enjoying the pint of course) the food arrived very swiftly ?
In a lovely rural countryside spot with a warm welcome from the landlady Bernadette. The place was rammed.”

“Visited here on the 26/10/24 for my sister’s 21st. Where to start, the building itself is old and beautiful, and feels like you are in a castle! The staff were super friendly, wishing my sister a happy birthday when they saw the badges and the happy birthday decor we put in the table where she was sat. I opted for soup of the day which was carrot and butternut squash. The soup was delicious and came with warm bread that tasted homemade! I had the steak and ale pie and as you can see from the pictures of my main, proper portion sizes! This sets a bench mark for other pubs to follow in suite in portion sizes! I was so full after my meal I skipped pudding and opted for a tasty cappuccino! Others in the group had Americano and they offered milk instead of just putting it on the table which is rare nowadays. Service and food were superb! The toilets were spotless and the decor, seats and tables were great, gave a warm, romantic feeling. I will deffo be back and may even have a meal here before xmas! The staff could not do enough for us and were enthusiastic which was great! Can’t wait to come back here and without a doubt the best meal I have had out in a while and is mow in my top 3 places to eat out in! Keep up the great work, and thank you for making my sister’s 21st 1 to remember! On a final note I suspect all the food is homemade and cooked/served to order!”

“Second time we’ve been here, it won’t be the last! The food is excellent, decent portions, well cooked and presented, as well as being very reasonably priced especially on the fixed price 2/3 course menu. The staff are really nice and you feel very welcome. Would recommend highly.”
