I visited January 2024 for the first time in 25 years. I was happy to find that it still has the charm of the small, cosy snugs but with the addition of new extensions. Nostalgia was satisfied.

Classic Country pub with modern feel. Good food, good value and nice atmosphere.

Firstly, the food was amazing! We had a Sunday roast (the 50 day aged beef, delicious) and a crumble pudding and we devoured every single thing on our plates. Great value for money when you think you got all of a roast dinner trimmings with it. Secondly, the staff were super friendly and attentive from the minute we walked in until the moment we left. Lastly, the guy we assume was the manager took time out to help us find a cross country route back to the hotel we were staying in some 4 miles away. We’d walked to the pub from our hotel and was told there were only busy roads that we could use to get to the pub. When we arrived there we just asked if they knew of any other route and he looked up online and did all he could to help us, and thankfully we got back in one piece (albeit caked in mud ?). Would definitely return here if we were ever in the area again. Thanks all!

We liked the look of the Crown from reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. Our son had the chicken and mushroom ‘Pie of the Day’ and very much enjoyed it, and my wife loved the fish finger sandwich. I had the Gloucester Old Spot sausages with deliciously creamy mash, creamed leek and cabbage, pork crackling and red wine gravy, and it was superb. The gastropub is only a short detour from the A46 and we will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful 2 course meal, brilliant service, great atmosphere and lovely stylish interior. Couldn't recommend highly

We ate here as a family of five, a few days after Christmas. The home made steak and ale pie was the best we’ve ever eaten! Everything was cooked to perfection and served by friendly and helpful staff. 10/10. ?

Awesome local pub, with great staff and food.Parking: Can be a challenge when busyWheelchair accessibility: They have a couple of disabled parking spots. The gravel car park is a little challenging with a manual wheelchair and there is a steep slope out of the parking area which is hard work. Other than this you are all good.

The Crown in Old Dalby fell short of my expectations last weekend. Disappointingly, the London Pride was off, and a substantial portion of the menu was unavailable—three items to be exact. The ambiance suffered as well, with a cold room housing storage boxes, hinting at organisational lapses. The overall experience left the impression of us being forgotten about, a regrettable aspect for any dining establishment. On this occasion, improvement in beer quality, menu availability, and attention to customer experience is crucial for The Crown to meet the standards expected of a successful pub or eatery in Old Dalby.

Great Gastro pub menu with a true English country pub vibe. Great decor both inside and out. Covered outdoor seating area with log burner for those cold winter nights. The landlord is a giant of a man with a great sense of humour, would definitely come here again.

Really disappointing Sunday lunch, there were six of us dinning. We ordered the Antipasti Sharing Board as a starter for 3 of us, didn’t come with the toasted garlic & rosemary focaccia or Netherend Farm butter, just some cold white toast. Requested more toast and were told we would have to pay for it, which was fine, but never arrived, we weren’t offered any plates or cutlery, so used serviettes The beef was very poor quality (so much fat) and served pink despite requesting twice for medium. Vegetables and Cauliflower cheese insufficient for 6 people, requested more of both but only a very small amount of extra veg eventually arrived. One person ordered the Chicken Supreme but that didn’t come with the bread sauce. The bill was just over £240 which is steep given the quality . We raised all the issues but nothing was addressed, and we simply got “yes we know, but the staff need more training” Felt really sorry for the young lad who served us.

Went as a group of 10, 4 of us had pie veg, when it came the veg was cold, the Gravy took forever to come out, by that time it was stone cold, Was over priced, shall not be going back

It's really gone down hill in the last year or so. This used to be the place to go - with moderately high prices to suit. The last time we had food here it was not good - a grissly steak that was over seasoned. Have stopped eating here. The place used to be packed. Its a real shame.
