This is overall one of my favourite pubs in the area. Have had many meals there over the years and have been very pleased. Unfortunately this time, my partners meal (lasagne) was luke warm only and she left a lot of it. We did raise it with the waiter but he was obviously young and inexperienced and didn't offer any remedies.Small things like this can sadly leave lasting memories.We will return though because overall this is a rural gem and to be treasured.

Cannot fault our experience today. Good food, superb choice of beers on tap.Hospitality exceptional, there was nothing the lady taking the orders, serving the drinks and dispensing the food to the table wouldn't undertake in a very welcoming and accommodating manner. She even found time to bring some treats for our black lab.Good value for money, will go again.Vegetarian options: Plenty

Visited for lunch today for the first time and were very impressed. The home cooked food was excellent (we both had the steak and kidney pie) and although we don't usually have desert we decided to as these were also home made, we weren't disappointed. The family who run the pub are all very friendly and we will definitely go back.

The "Stilton Cheese" pub is but a 3 minutes walk from our holiday accommodation, therefore so easy to get there. A good start. But there is something magical about the "Stilton Cheese" .. it is a lovely, traditional, family-run pub, serving delicious freshly-prepared food .. that sets it above so many pubs! Our regret was that we could not visit as often as we did whilst on holiday .. we will do so more often next time we are in the area.

Great little pub, feels like you've gone back in time to the days before the big chains. Menu was great, lots of choice and a specials board too. Lovely home cooked food at a reasonable price. Amazing homemade puddings with custard, hard to choose which to have. Will definitely go again.
