Always a warm welcome. A proper pub in the sense that there is memorabilia, old brass hanging off the walls, beer mats stapled to the bar and an array of ales and whiskies. There is ample seating that is spacious, spread out and private enough for small and large gatherings.The clientele is what sets this place apart, it's a traditional wet pub and so it attracts those looking for exactly that. A great pub with good beer and a lively, friendly atmosphere. Mainly a locals pub as far as I can tell, but don't let that put you off. It's how pubs used to be and quite a rarity these days.

What a turnaround!!!! Alice (and Fred, but I've not met him properly yet) has made such a positive change to the place. The vibe is buzzing, but whilst still maintaining the lovely local village pub feel. I'd highly recommend a visit
