Had overbooked so after getting settled at our table we were asked to move, we were waiting 25 mins to place our orders, but my partner was given a free drink to compensate, it is unusual for this to happen and it certainly won't put us going in the future, as the service and food is usually very

We had completed a nearby AllTrails dog walk in the surrounding area and popped in for a bite to eat. The staff were very friendly informing us they allow dogs inside and offered to extend the food serving time to accommodate us as we arrived on the cusp of the kitchen closing. The food arrived promptly and was delicious with very generous serving sizes. We opted for the burger and the beef and Stilton pie, would definitely recommend. Overall, a very positive experience, we will definitely visit again.

First time visitors to the area and were recommended Blue Bell in Belchford. Very quaint traditional and looks unassuming from outside. However the menu was really interesting and quality of home cooked food was first class. We had local version sausages and home made fish pie, absolutely on the money. Also the prices were surprisingly good for the quality of food. Would certainly recommend it is worth a detour. A tradional Wold pub that serves top food.

A few people have recommended 'The Bluebell Inn,' and we can see why..It is a really cosy classic country pub!We were instantly made to feel welcome by the people working there and the other customers! There was a really good selection on the menu, including vegetarian options..We each had a starter and main!I had the camembert to start with Ciabatta, which was well seasoned, and the truffle was the perfect finish! For the main, I had bavette steak with whisky cream sauce, dauphinoise potatoes and Brocolli.. I am very fussy about my steak as we keep cows!I can honestly say this was a great cut, which was cooked to absolute perfection.. Still nice and bloody! One of our party had and would recommend the squid to start and fish pie main.. I can definitely see us going back in the very near future!

We just had a curry meal each and two lovely pints of Landlord beer. The lady behind the bar was really quite engaging and made you feel welcome.Parking: Not a large car park but sufficient. You can walk into the back of the pub from there.

A lovely little country pub and restaurant, took the family for a meal and all impressed with the food. Mark down as the shrimp starter was very strong and maybe not as described, service was good but maybe little slow, will be going back A*

A family & friends’ get together for lunch. Lovely characterful pub. Young servers could do with a little training in cheery (not glum) customer service and dining awareness. A common issue these days. Food was very good. Served hot and tasty with good sides. We all enjoyed our food and drinks and would happily return.

We arrived for lunch just before the 2pm cut off time only to be told that the kitchen was closed. We had rung a couple of times to order lunch but nobody answered the phone. (The pub was definitely not busy!). The rather ‘grumpy’ lady behind the bar, reluctantly put in an order for cold sandwiches. These was served in a DIY fashion by a pleasant guy from the kitchen. Now….We worked out that our lunch which, with drinks, cost us £22 could quite possibly have been a loss of said amount due to the pub not wanting to ‘go the extra mile’. This happened to another couple after us….who resorted to packets of crisps! One only has to work out that £40+ per day is probably being turned away. Times are very hard for the hospitality industry at the moment. This attitude does not help. We will not be returning.

We had Sunday dinner at the pub, the food was excellent and the service was great, we were on holiday, so not locals but were treated very well and made to feel very welcome, would definitely recommend to everyone.
