4 of us went last night and the food was spot on and the place is spotlessly clean. Three of us had steak and it’s the best ones we’ve had in a long time, one had the chicken, ham and leek pie which they thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Five stars is not enough to rate the excellent food/price/service and overall atmosphere of this gem of a pub.I was amazed by the quality of food and portions. This is my new go to local for meals out.Staff were brilliant, the owner should be extremely proud of their team, from waitresses to the chef. Looking forward to sampling their Sunday roastsDefinitely recommend

Dined here several times as a couple and also came as a family of 6 on Christmas Eve. Everything was perfect. The food is always well presented and the ever changing menu has something for everyone. Highly recommended.
Booked for Xmas Eve meal. Party of 6 with 2 kids. Food was excellent and plentiful - too much in some cases. Good festive atmosphere and sevice by les girls was excellent. Well worth it.Kid-friendliness: Boxed games for kids to play with.

We recently went in the George for a family birthday, with approximately 30 guests we pre ordered before we arrived to make it easier, within 20 minutes of everyone arriving and being seated everyone's food was out, the food as normal was spot on, I had the yellow belly burger which is so good, all the staff are always friendly and nothing is to much trouble.

Food good, drinks very expensive. Had two bottles of diet coke, a double spiced rum and small coke and it cost me £18.90. my husband bought 2 bottles of diet coke and it was £7.00, a pint of beer was only £5.00? £3.50 for a bottle of diet coke? Really??????We spent £101.00 for a steak pie, a lasagne, a tiny cheesecake and a sticky toffee pudding, four bottles of diet coke and two double spiced rum and small cokes. I consider that quite expensive for a night out. What do you think? Plus the lady bar manager can be rather abrupt and rude, see other reviews.I have since been threatened by the owner, to bar our bowling club because of my review. It is MY review, not the review of the club. If the bowling club wanted to book next year, they can rest assured that my husband and I will not be attending. But the club should not be punished for my review.

The George is our favorite place to eat in the area, always a friendly welcome, a great selection of beers and an even better choice of food, different specials regularly which are locally sourced, it's easy to see why they came top 3 in the recent Best Dining pub of the year awards. Chef Ben is always happy to chat or answer any questions about his lovely food. They've recently started allowing campervan/motorhome stopovers in their large quiet car park and have regular classic and American car meets which bring in a good crowd. Can't wait to go again, I'm sure it won't be long.

Smashing pub! I've been quite a few times now and the steak burger they do is always spot on, the best I've had in the area. Goes well with the level head they have on draft ?
Dog friendly pub, amazing food!
