“We went to the Crown and Mitre in Tydd St Giles for Sunday lunch, we were greeted by Tash (very friendly lady) behind the bar who showed us to our table with the minimum of fuss. There was a choice of Beef or lamb for the Sunday roast. We had a drink at the table and our lunches turned up in good time. The lunch was a proper cooked and prepared on the premises lunch, a very good portion, the meat was perfectly cooked and a good thickness not the paper thin offerings of elsewhere. It was wonderful. All cooked by Mick the licensee, wonderful job. It is now our default venue for Sunday lunch. All the locals were friendly and chatty, the atmosphere was of a proper old village pub. I knew Mick from about 8 years ago , he remembered me at first sighting, the mark of a first rate publican. Thank you both for a wonderful lunch and visit. Lynne and I will definitely be back.”
