The food is an experience in itself, with incredible, friendly staff, but we stayed over in the rooms and weren't disappointed. Breakfast was almost as much an experience as the evening meal.

Had the lunch. Served by the chefs which was a great touch. Food is other worldly. How they can make cold food taste the way it does is beyond my thinking. Yes it’s expensive, but you do not walk out thinking you were short changed. It’s amazing.
excellent food and service. The dining room is dressed very well and it has real character. We both ordered the tasting menus and bottles of wine separate (not wine flights). Cocktails also very good, rhubarb and custard desert delicious !

Lunch - we had the tasting menu without the accompanying wines. Service was faultless from greeting to paying. All staff excellent at perfectly explaining each step and dish. Nice to have a short chat with the head chef over a mini-course in the kitchen The young chefs were very charming. The dishes are superb. The strengths are flavourful sauces - with quail and the cod loin courses. Bread is very nice. As they say, Quality is King and I hope/expect the kitchen can match this with more covers - there were 7 on the Jan lunchtime this week.

We have eaten at a number of Michelin starred restaurants and considered Winteringham to be up there with the best with the same rating. Exceptional staff who provided friendly and attentive service. Greatly enjoyed dishes being served by the young chefs who were very enthusiastic. The menu was imaginative with good flavours. The breads were delicious, but beware not to eat too much as then you struggle with the remaining courses. Bedroom was comfortable and had an excellent coffee machine with fresh milk in the fridge. Some of the carpets on the stairs and landing looked dated and those arias could do with some updating. The breakfast supervisor was efficient, friendly and able to answer all our questions about the place.

Immoral!! The price they charge for an “immersive experience” is a load of rubbish. Told them I am allergic to mushrooms but was still served a meatball stuffed with them. Wouldn’t return at all

Absolutely amazing food and good service. We stayed over for a night, we have to be honest the room decor didn’t not meet the standard of the food by along way. The rooms really do need a make over. Bed was comfy and room was clean though. We will definitely visit again but just for the food.
