We’ve never been disappointed with either the food or the welcoming atmosphere at this café. We called in today needing to eat before a visit to the Kinema and were rewarded with a wonderful liver and bacon, plated up with mash or chips and a further four veg - all freshly cooked and very reasonably priced. So good we’ve booked a Christmas lunch next week!. It may be unprepossessing at first glance but is heartily recommended!

I reviewed the Melrose 8 years ago and was full of praise then for our lovely local restaurant and I really wanted to review it again and let everyone know that it is still a great place to eat in Woodhall Spa. We are so lucky to have the Melrose right on our doorstep. Trevor and his staff could not be more welcoming and friendly and the menu is varied and absolutely delicious and the food is always piping hot and beautifully served. Cannot praise the whole team enough…..love it !

Not the first visit here always get a good home cooked meal the food is delicious and home made deserts excellent forget the pubs go here for value and good dinner well done we will be back

Called in for breakfast. Dog friendly and staff brought a bowl of water and a dog treat. Our order was taken promptly, although we were offered more time. My husband had the full English breakfast and I had scrambled eggs with bacon and beans. The meal was served hot and we were cautioned about the hot plates. Good portions and everything was cooked and presented well. The coffee was good and offered free with the breakfast menu..an added bonus. This was our first visit, but wont be our last as the homemade cakes looked very tempting.

So peaceful and calming sitting in their garden area. Had a toasted sandwich, chips and salad - a good, tasty, simple meal with best chips. Coffee is fab, best had anywhere in a long while. Lovely biscuit too. Homemade scone looks great - yet to tuck in. Super friendly service, I'll now make this my local! Tucked away on the main drag of Woodhall Spa, do find it, you will not be disappointed.Parking: Great just behind garden but parking reasonably cheap nearby.

We arrived as a family of 6, we were seated straight away and our order taken quickly. The food arrived hot, fresh and delicious. Excellent value for money and friendly fast service.
Hidden at the back of a small arcade, the breakfast was well cooked and good value for money.

A wander around Woodhall Spa lead us to The small Broadway Arcade. This traditional small cafe is through the arcade of small shops and located down at the end of this small shopping mall. Outstanding food and lovely girls serving. The food was cooked to order and hot! Even though we each had something different the order was correct with nothing wrong or missing - a rarity these days! We also took a small carry out of cakes for those who had to stay at home. Couldn’t fault the cafe at all - nice busy atmosphere, quick service and freshly cooked. Can’t wait to go back - well done to all ????

We visited the Melrose whilst on a visit to the Kinema in the woods recently, not the first time as the food is always excellent. We had an issue with double payment and when contacted, an instant refund was made with an offer of compensation. Lovely food, lovely people. Thank you Nic and Julie, see you again soon.

This was an amazing cafe we got a takeout chip butty and it was that good I had eaten most of it before I remembered to take a photo. I recommend to go here and I hope Thai business keeps going.
